Designing a SlideShare world contest
(winning?) presentation
I use slides a lot in my job
And I dislike being
bored during a
presentation
So, I tried to improve my presentations
But…
Still got work to do…
Then, I discovered a new world
And I became addicted to
As I tried to embrace a new way of
presenting
I heard of SlideShare world contest
I was kind of interested in it
And I began to think:
How could I make
a good challenging
presentation?
1st, know your “enemy”…
And I saw…
… That there were (very) good entries!
(no, I won’t give any name! )
How could I find a good (great!)
idea to stand out?
Easy: take a part of your life!
A friend sent me a jokes presentation that can
(must?) be redesigned
Great!
But…
What is the message to give?
Ok, next!
Why not talking about my “new world”?
Great!
But…
There’s already:
Nancy
Garr
Cliff
Andy
What is my added-value to the message?
Ok, next!
Let’s talk about the last book I’ve read
It’s a great book about…
…Making a message
stick in minds
Great!
But…
Still reading it!
Next!
And that’s when
it appears…
The idea…
… Telling the story you’re
currently reading!
Great!
… because this is a story about
building a (good?) presentation
… and stories are
the best way to
engage people!
Ok! let’s conclude then.
A presentation has a message
The presenter adds value
A story is the best way to engage
people about the message
(even if highly technical!)
By the way, let’s check those
points for this presentation
The 3 points you must not forget
when making a presentation
1 Message:
2 Added value:
Telling those 3 points through a
concrete story
3 Story:
The story told in this presentation
should sound familiar and engage you
So, always remember the
3 “not-to-forget” things
