SmartShell uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to index the Office action, enabling full text search, copy, and paste of the examiner’s text. Natural Language Recognition automatically identifies the examiner’s issues and citations and converts the Office action and claims into a Word document, which generates from a customizable template ready for the attorney to draft the technical and legal arguments of the response. Additionally, the tool automatically produces a client-reporting letter including a summary and links to the art cited by the examiner.
