The Naturals Color Collection was created specifically for Norix by Tara Hill of LittleFISH Think Tank, a creative solutions company specializing in product design, color theory, and brand identity. Ms. Hill is a design consultant recognized for her work in the use of color to create normalized environments that support positive outcomes.TRANSCRIPT
Design Guide
Color is a vital design tool in providing a therapeutic environment that helps reduce tension, assist in behavior modification, and enhance resident AND staff safety.
Research indicates that interiors with an interesting use of color that are NOT overly neutral can:• Balance the mental equilibrium of residents• Helps reduce behavioral discord• Promote dignity and encourage socialization
A normalized environment can assist residents to:• Reduce tensions and anxiety• Promote positive behavior modification• Connect to the natural world
With focus on environments with behavioral discord, the Naturals Color Collection addresses three primary human elements:• Familiarity (Connection to outside world)• Stress reduction (Calming and lifting the spirit)• Morale improvement (Humanizing and Normalizing)
The Naturals Collections can be used to provide coordinated colors to:• Common areas• Sleep spaces• Learning spaces• Dining areas

The Naturals Color Collection was created specifically for Norix by Tara Hill of LittleFISH Think Tank, a creative solutions company specializing in product design, color theory, and brand identity. Ms. Hill is a design consultant recognized for her work in the use of color to create normalized environments that support positive outcomes.
Ms. Hill also has significant experience regarding the science and theory of color as both a design tool and as a promoter of healing. She is very knowledgeable in evidence-based research findings and how nature and color play an active role in our physical and emotional well being by positively impacting the human spirit.

ollectionColors that mimic those found in nature can help “replicate” a natural setting in an institutional facility that may (out of necessity) lack natural light and exterior windows.
The Naturals Collection celebrates 8 distinct hues that are:• Timeless and inspired by Nature• Designed to provide visual interest and enrich space• Familiar, calming and positive
Welcoming and enduring, a neutral with a sunny dis-position. The color of wheat fields, grain and sand. Golden Wheat is the color of America’s heartlands and beaches.
Spirited and jewel toned. Festive and warm. The color of autumn, spice, canyons, and sunsets. Autumn Leaf is the pop of color a space may desire for added interest.

Soothing, tranquil, and contemplative. The color of sapphire, blue birds, and fresh water. Lagoon is easily used in high quantities, will never compete with other materials and color.
Warm, timeless, quiet. The color of stone, rock and alloy. River Rock allows other colors and materials to be show-cased to their fullest.
Enigmatic and regal. A quiet expression. The color of royalty, fruit, and berries. Mulberry is deep, rich, can be used as a neutral or combine with all colors to bring forth added interest.
Rich, deep and grounding. The color of terra firma, soil, the earth. Familiar Pinecone behaves as a foundational neutral, easily partnered with other color options.
Deep, classic, and proud. The color of charcoal, lava, and midnight. Raven is a timeless stabile that grounds.
