We welcome these new students to our school community and encourage them to make the most of the opportunities the College provides. Mr Dally’s Year 2/3 Oliver and Tarhlee Years 7/8 Jeremy School Leadership The Investiture of the 2015 Student Leaders was held this morning. Congratulations to the Senior College Captain, Josh Anderson, and to our Junior College Captains, Christine Kirk and Riley Gordon. After the speech at assembly last week and the students and staff voting for their preferred Junior College Captain, both Christine and Riley had the same number of votes. Both students have different skills and qualities and it was decided that both students would be valuable representatives of the College and had the support of students and staff. Congratulations to all of the other students who received leadership positions in a variety of important roles. It is inspiring to see so many students eager to take on the various leadership positions within our school community. School Council Election If you would like to become a School Councillor, information regarding the election process will be contained in next week’s newsletter. I would like to thank our outgoing School Council members, Peter Grech, Eliza Ogden, Lesley Brown,(Co-opted Community Members) Sharon Young, Narelle Uren, Gary Poole (Parent Members) and Zac Gellie (DET Member), for their dedication and commitment to promoting and improving our school during their time on School Council. I would also like to encourage them to nominate for a position in the 2015 School Council to continue the important work we are doing. This year we have 4 positions vacant in the Parent Member category and 1 position vacant for the Department of Education and Training category. Watch for next week’s newsletter for further details regarding the 2015 School Council Election. Situation Vacant We currently have re-advertised a position on Recruitment Online for an Education Support/Integration Aide for 15.2 hours per week. For further information go to Recruitment Online on the Department of Education and Training website. www.education.vic.gov.au . Applications for this position close on the 24th of February. Mystery Auction Due to the refurbishments last year in the Trade Wing, the College has a shelf and cupboard that are excess to our needs. If you would like to bid for any of the items in our ‘mystery auction’, write the letter assigned to the item, the amount of your bid, your name and telephone number on a piece of paper, put it in a sealed envelope marked “Mystery Auction” and hand it in at the College office before 3.30 pm on Thursday the 19th of February. If you wish to view the items please call the school to arrange a suitable time. Market to Mount It will be great to see many of you at the Derrinallum Town Market on Sunday when the annual Market to Mount Fun Run is held. Please see the details regarding this event in this week’s newsletter.
