DIAGNOSING AND TREATING SKIN

CONDITIONS SOONER

Dr. Ben Wilde, Ellen Taylor’s primary care

physician, notices changes in a mole

on Ellen’s back. Dr. Wilde sends Ellen’s

health record and pictures of her mole

to a UMMC telehealth dermatologist.

The next day, Dr. Wilde receives a treatment

recommendation based on the information

he sent. Together, the two doctors create

and implement an aggressive treatment

plan for Ellen’s noncomplex melanoma.

Dermatology services available through

UMMC Telehealth include:

• Medical dermatology

• Pediatric dermatology

• Complex medical dermatology

• Diagnosis and treatment for skin lymphoma

and other skin cancers

• Mohs surgery evaluations for skin cancers,

melanoma and other dermapathologies

UMMC CAN PROVIDE IN-PERSON CARE IF NEEDED.

Many patients can be successfully treated through

telehealth. When patients do require hands-on care,

our telehealth providers can refer them to an appropriate

facility. Whether it’s telehealth or hands-on treatment,

patients receive the same high level of care backed

by Mississippi’s only academic medical center.
