We hope youre all looking

forward to starting your time

at the University of Derby

and were here to help you

along the way. Here at the

University of Derby Students

Union weve been workinghard to put together a series

of events and activities that

will help you to settle into

your new surroundings,

make new friends and have

a fantastic time.

We have organised 70 different

activities taking place in just

15 days. This means that therewill be something for everyone;

from trips to Alton Towers and

Chatsworth House right the way

through to comedy and open

mic nights. Theres plenty for

you to do and see every day, so

prepare yourself for a busy two

weeks, get stuck in and make

the most of it - you are only a

Fresher once!

Many of the events weve

organised for you are free and

others are heavily subsidised

allowing you to save as much

money as possible. You can

also make a massive saving by

gives you free entry to some of

the biggest events including the

Westeld Student Lockdown,

Freshers Party and UV Party.

proft organisation and

all the money we make

is reinvested back intoimproving our services for

you. When you enrol you

automatically become a

member of the Students

Union; this gives you access

to all of our facilities and

The Students Union is run

by students, for students

and is here to ensure that

all students studying at

the University of Derby

are represented fairly. This

means that every year the

student body (thats you)

the Students Union and

execute our vision, to

defend and extend the

rights of our students by
