The trade show highlight of the Gretsch-Unitas Group: access control

Given the wide array of access control systems, what's needed is to maintain an overview. At the security, the GU Group is presenting prod-ucts and system solutions that are grouped into clear topic areas on the exhibition stand.

We offer solutions for individual doors, such as in private houses, and so-lutions for several doors, such as in a public authority building or a com-pany.

Our range of products for single- and multi-door solutions are grouped into mechanical and electronic access controls and, in the latter case, are subdivided further into solutions with and without cables.

Mechanical access control – from private houses to public authority buildings

Mechanical keys are the most direct form of access control.

The modern reversible key systems from BKS, the traditional brand of the GU Group, are the safe bet when deciding on mechanical access control. The high-quality keys with key duplication protection as well as registered key bitting with a security card ensure that keys can only be copied by au-thorised persons.

In the 3rd generation, BKS has expanded the security package of the janus once again and is presenting an entirely novel key design: as well as the secure dimple key and the tried-and-tested drilling/picking protec-tion, the janus offers a totally new copy-protection feature. This makes it practically impossible to make a precise copy – even with new 3D print-ers.

When it comes to BKS locking cylinders, security is the name of the game: bumping protection, featured as standard, takes care of that as well as the emergency function that prevents blocking by inserted keys. The janus system also features drilling/picking protection to prevent forced opening.

Long patent terms on the key profile series also ensure a high degree of future-proofness. BKS satisfies the most stringent quality and security de-mands for all kinds of requirements with high quality mechanical door pro-tection solutions. (Figure 1)

Electronic access control - from the individual door solution through to the complex access control system

The proven GU house entrance door concept - which has now also won an award from PROTECTOR in the Home Security area - offers plug-and-work complete packages with an extremely wide range of solutions: from the individual door through to complex systems, with or without cables, via radio or smart phone. (Figure 2)

At the Security, GU will be showing an electronic door security concept without cables. It is the intelligent combination of a battery-operated code keypad with radio electrically coupled cylinder or radio electrically coupled lock. These sets are especially suited to retrofitting because the radio electrically coupled cylinder means that a doors can be activated electrically without cabling being required for the door. It is simply a case of replacing the mechanical cylinder in the door.

The radio electrically coupled cylinder is coupled and decoupled via a wall module or a battery operated radio OEM solution with encrypted radio communication without a separate rights management function.

The radio electrically coupled cylinder is particularly energy-saving with a battery efficiency of 200,000 cycles or 3 years on standby. (Figures 3 + 4)

BKS's modern SE technology is the ideal solution for combining the flexi–ble use of space with high building security. Regardless of whether you use mechanical, mechatronic or electronic master key systems – the SE transponder from BKS can be used for any of them. Different cylinders can be combined in a cost-effective overall system without having to sac-rifice comfort, as all cylinders, keys and transponders are administered and programmed via the BKS-Key Manager software for managing mas-ter key systems. Especially economical systems combine the use of me-chanical and electronic cylinders. (Figure 5)

BKSaccess is an access control system with matching components. With BKSaccess, access authorisations can be managed and checked, logged and changed – centrally and in real time. The access control system with cables is the right solution for efficiently satisfying complex requirements.
