In his Friday Sermon today, Hazoor Anwar (aa) continued to narrate about the blessed

companions of the Holy Prophet (sa). One companion of the Holy Prophet (sa) was

Hazrat Yazeed (ra). He was with the Holy Prophet (sa) in all of his battles. He was

martyred in the battle of Yamamah in the 12th year of Hijrah. This war was fought

against Musailma Kazzab during the Khilafat of Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra).

Musailma was a person who claimed prophethood for himself during the life of the Holy

Prophet (sa). Hazoor Anwar (aa) gave details about his life and claims, and how he

attracted people through deception. When the army of Muslims fought with the army of

Musailma during the Khilafat of Hazrat Abu Bakr, it was a fierce war. The opposing army

outnumbered Muslims by a large number. At first, two armies of Muslims faced defeat

under the leadership of Hazrat Ikrima and Hazrat Sharabeel. At last, Muslims were

granted victory under the leadership of Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (ra). Many

companions of the Holy Prophet (sa) were martyred in these wars with Musailma.

Another companion was Hazrat Numan bin Malik (ra). He was part of the battle of Badr

and Uhud and was martyred in the battle of Udud. When leaving for the battle of Uhud,

Hazrat Numan said to the Holy Prophet (sa) that I will definitely enter paradise. The Holy

Prophet (sa) asked him how this would happen. He replied that I give testimony that

there is none worthy of worship except Allah and you are His Messenger and I will not

back away from fighting. The Holy Prophet (sa) said that you have spoken the truth. He

was martyred on the same day. The Holy Prophet (sa) said that Allah has accepted his

prayers and I have seen him in paradise.

Once, Hazrat Numan enterted the mosque, while the Holy Prophet (sa) was delivering

the Friday Sermon. The Holy Prophet (sa) said that O Numan, offer two Rakat and keep






them short. The Holy Prophet (sa) said that if any of you enter the mosque while the

sermon is being delivered, you should offer two Rakat prayer while not prolonging

them.

Another companion of the Holy Prophet (sa) was Hazrat Khubaib bin Adi Ansari (ra). In

the battle of badr, he killed an enemy of Muslims named Harris. In the fourth year after

Hijrah, Hazrat Khubaib was captured by the enemies of Muslims. This happened in the

incident of Raji’ when the Holy Prophet (sa) had sent ten companions to teach Islam to a

tribe. However, the enemies of Muslims attacked them, martyred eight of them and

captured two of them, including Hazrat Khubaib. Hazrat Khubaib was bought by the

children of Harris to avenge the death of their father.

We find a couple of incidents while he was in captivity. Once, the daughter of Harris saw

that her daughter was very close to Hazrat Khubaib (ra) while he had a razor in his hand.

She became worried to see this. Hazrat Khubaib (ra) saw this and said that do you think I

would kill her. I am not such a person. Similarly, the daughter of Harris says that while

there was no fruit available in Mecca, I saw Hazrat Khubaib eating graves in his cell. I

firmly believe that this was provided to him by His Lord.

When the enemies brought him outside to kill him, he asked them to permit him to

offer two Rakat of prayers. When they allowed him, he offered two Rakat prayers, but

kept them short. He said afterwards that I would have surely prolonged my prayer if I

wasn’t afraid that you would think that I was doing this due to being scared from being

killed. Then, before being martyred, he said a few couplets. One of these couplets is as

follows:

Translation: While I am being killed in the state of being a Muslim, I do not care which side my

body fall downs. May Allah continue to elevate the station of the companions of the Holy

Prophet (sa).

Hazoor Anwar (aa) announced that a website of History of Ahmadiyyat is being launched

today in Urdu and English languages after Friday prayer. It contains many interesting

items from the history of Ahmadiyyat.

Hazoor Anwar (aa) also announced the funeral prayer in absentia of Mukarram Safiur

Rahman sahib. He was a missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at who served

Jama’at for a long time in Africa.
