Technology & Engineering Education focuses on teaching students about design and problem-solving, using principles of science and mathematics, to find technological solutions to real-world issues and human needs. The Technology & Engineering Education program at TCNJ prepares you to become an integral part of the STEM education community. Graduates of the program earn K–12 teaching certification in Technology Education, and most become teachers in high school and middle school settings. From robotics to biotechnology, structures to circuits, architecture to graphic design, our curriculum prepares you to teach content across the broad spectrum of the human-designed world.

The Department of Integrative STEM Education has long been a national leader in Technology & Engineering Education. Our groundbreaking work has been recognized by organizations like the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA), the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).

Technology & Engineering Education majors come from diverse backgrounds and from all walks of life. Our students are scholars and athletes, artists and builders, writers and musicians. All are united by a passion for design- and inquiry-focused teaching and learning.

Our faculty members possess a wide range of backgrounds including Technology & Engineering Education, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Biochemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Our real-world experiences include teaching in K–12 classrooms and conducting research and development in laboratory and industry settings.
