8. Teacher's academic profile Dr. Hiwa received his Bachelor's degree of Dental Surgery (B.D.S) from College of Dentistry at Hawler Medical University in 2005. In 2010, he started working in Dental Technician Department at Erbil Technical Medical Institute. Throughout his time there, he focused on helping his students. In 2015, he achieved his Master's Degree in Pediatric Dentistry and became a specialist dentist. Currently, he is an academic faculty member at Erbil Polytechnic University, where he educates, and trains, students whom are in the Dental Assistant program.

10. Course overview: The public views the profession of dentistry with respect andtrust. As important members of the oral healthcare profession,dental assistants should remember the trials and errors, thestruggles, and the contributions made over the years to advancethe dental profession. Advances inequipment design, dental materials, anesthesia, infection control, and diagnostic techniques have made modern dentistry a moreexact science. These are especially interesting, challenging, and excitingtimes to be entering the dental healthcare profession.
