    SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS/ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES ATTENDED BY FACULTY

    1. A Two day workshop on Teaching Techniques Case Study & Management Game wasattended by Commerce Department Faculty on 9th & 10th June 2011. The resource personswere Prof. Ramesh Gopinath Tagath Retired. IIM, Bangalore & Prof. Narayana Reddy, Head,Dept. of Management Studies, CBIT.

    2. Faculty of Commerce Department attended a Seminar on Creative Excellence byLakshmi Sailaja of One World Academy on 29th July 2011.The informative talk impartedwisdom on managing ones emotion for greater success.

    3. Mrs. Mary Vinaya Sheela attended Hyderabad Management Association Training Programmeon Capitalizing on Team Talent at Hotel Pearl Regency, Hyderabad on 6th Aug, 2011.

    4. Mr. Satyanarayana attended Annual Departmental Conference for UG Teachers Conducted byDepartment of Commerce Osmania University on 27th August 2011.

    5. Mrs. Savithri & Mrs. Shanthi Kiran attended a Workshop on Project preparation forB.Com Final Year Honors at IIMC Khairatabad, Hyderabad on 8th September 2011. The

    Workshop was based on creating awareness for selecting the area of project & how to go withit. Faculties from Osmania University delivered the lecture on whether to make the project aTreasure or Trash.

    6. Faculty of Commerce Department attended Seminar on SPSS by Prof. Haragopal, Dept ofStatistics Osmania University on 26th Sept 2011.He explained the various advantages inenhancing capacity building,as it facilitates better evaluation and analysis of ones performance

    7. Mrs. Mary Vinaya Sheela & Mrs. Savithri attended 3rd International Conference onIT & Business Intelligence (ITBI-2011) which was jointly organized by IMT Nagpur andSt. Anns College for women Hyderabad on 25th & 26th Nov, 2011.

An Orientation Program for First year Autonomous Batch students was organized by thedepartment on 28th June 2011.The Chief Guest of the Programme Prof. Shankariah Head, Deptof Commerce Osmania University addressed the students on the importance of Autonomy andemployability of courses offered

A Seminar on Project Preparation for B.com III Yr Honors students was organized by thedepartment on 2nd July 2011.The resource person Prof.Prashantha Atma Dept of CommerceOsmania University addressed the students about the reasons and benefits of including Projectwork in B.com Honors Curriculum.

    3. A Seminar on Importance of Chartered Accountancy course for B.com III yr Regulars andHonors students was held on 16th July 2011 by ETEN-CA Academy.

    4. A Seminar on Hardware & Software Technology for B.com III Yr computer students was heldon 16th July 2011 by Jet King Hardware Networking

    5. A Seminar on Importance of Chartered Accountancy course for B.com III yr Computerstudents was held on 18th July 2011 by ETEN-CA Academy.

    6. A Seminar on Overseas education opportunities in Canada, Australia, USA& UK for B.com IIIYr Students was held on 26th July 2011 by Canam Consultants

    7. A Seminar on Poster Campaign for B.com III Yr students was held on 24th Jan 2012.Thespeaker was Ms.Ishita HR Manager from Deloitte EBOSS.

    8. A Seminar on Career in Event Management was held on 25th Jan 2012 by Rachanotsav-ALeading Event Management Company in Hyderabad

    EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

    1. Mrs.Savithri and Mrs.Shanthi Kiran along with B.com III year Honors students attended aworkshop on project preparation at IIMC Khairatabad, Hyderabad on 8th September 2011. Theworkshop was based on bringing awareness to the students for selecting the area of project andhow to go with it.The seminar was hosted by Principal of IIMC Mr.K Raghuveer and VicePrincipal Mr.Ayyappa Reddy. Faculties from Osmania University delivered lectures onwhether to make the Project a Treasure or a Trash

    First session was by Prof S. V. Krishna Kumar on the Ability to lead and Inspire.Hestressed on the importance of adding value to the project report.

    Second session was by Prof .S. V. Satyanarayana. He focused on Research Problems. Third session was by Dr. Patrick. He provided various Web- based resources. The fourth session was by Dr. K. Narendernath who focused on- How your project can

    be something you enjoy or a kill or joy depends on attitude towards our work.2. A Two day Blood Screening Camp was conducted by Youth Red Cross Society Wing of our

    College on 19th and 20th September 2011. Members from Red Cross Bank helped the I Yearstudents in testing, finding and recording of the blood group.

    3 NSS wing of St. Josephs Degree & PG College organized NSS Camp at Chengicherala, UppalRanga, Reddy District from 25th to 31st December 2011where our B.com students activelyparticipated. A survey regarding the villagers level of education, employment and family,Clean & Green programme Tree Plantation Programme and a Health Camp were conducted

    4 Blood Donation Camp was organized by Youth Red Cross Wing of St. Josephs Degree and PGcollege on 5th January 2012 in which our B.com students were actively involved. The campwas inaugurated by Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. V.K. Swamy and Mrs. Mary Vinaya Sheela, HeadDepartment of Commerce addressed the gathering. 118 students volunteered to donate blood.

    5 Youth Red Cross Volunteers accompanied by Coordinator Mrs. Suguna Sheela visited BloodBank on 7th Jan 2012 at Vidyanagar, Hyderabad. Dr. Sambashiva Rao explained about theprinciples of Red Cross and Dr.Paragoanker showed the storage and preservation of donatedblood to students. They also learnt about the use of donated blood.

    6 A Team of 17 B.com students attended RYLA-A Leadership Workshop conducted by RotaryClub of Hyderabad at St. Anns College for Women Hyderabad on 7th and 8th January 2012

    7 Women Empowerment Cell of St. Josephs College, in collaboration with the Gynecologicaland Obstetric Society of Hyderabad, conducted a Medical camp for girls in the campuson 10th January 2012 in which our B.com students participated. Dr. Jayanthi Reddy, theresource person made a PowerPoint presentation to promote awareness among girls on variousissues concerning their health care. Ask the doctor session was conducted, wherein the

    doctorpersonally addressed individual queries from the students and staff.

    8 A Team of 15 B.Com students attended National Youth Festival- an interactive session onyouth empowerment and leadership qualities at Ramakrishna Math Hyderabad from10th to 12th January 2012

    9. Certificate Course in First Aid was conducted on 19th January, 2012 by Red CrossCo-ordinator Ms. Bhavani and Dr. Sambashiva Rao in which 22 students participated.

    10. Certificate course in Handwriting for B.com I yr Regulars, Computers & Honors students wasorganized at our college Premises from 16th to 18th February 2012.The resource person wasMr. Y. Mallikarjun Rao- Director, National Handwriting Academy. Hyderabad

    11. Lokesh of B. Com II Yr Regulars, Bhavna of B. Com II Yr computers and Asim Anwar ofB. Com I Yr Honors attended University grants commission sponsored Inter Personalitydevelopment workshop from 13th to 19th February 2012 conducted by Anwar uloom College,Mallepally, Hyderabad.

    12. COMMUNITY SERVICES

    Visit to Home for the Disabled

    51 students of B.com II year regulars section a have visited Home for the Disabled at lowertank bund secunderabad on childrens day, i.e. 14th November 2011 along with class inchargeMrs. Sumitra Pujari and physical director Mr. Sridhar Reddy.

    It was a pleasure meeting the children and old people of various age groups from 4 to 90 years whowere physically a
