RESCHEDULING OF ANNUAL NATIONAL ASSESSMENTS (ANA) FOR &RAD€S 1 - 6 ANti 6RADE 9 (PILOT)
1, In accordance with Government Sazette no. 30880 of 2008, ail schools with grades 1-6 ore to engage in Annual NationalAssessments
2, The Annual National Assessments will no longer take place as indicated m circular No 47 of 2010 but they have beenrescheduled for dates from 7-11 February 2011.
3, Exemplar question papers which are a national recovery ptan. need to be delivered to all public schools with Grades 3, 6 and 9 inpreparation for the forth coming ANA.
4- It is compulsory that all schools write the Annual National Assessments.
5. There will be or, independent agent that is commissioned by the DBE to administer and monitor the Srade 3 and 6 ANAprocess.
6 The piloting of Srade 9 tests in sampled schools will be conducted by the independent agent during the week of 7-11 February2011.
7. Find atfat-hed the 201O/2Q11 revised Annual Nkstionai Assessments timetable and the management ptan.

1. * Tests that have been set for a given grade level will actually be written by learnerswho will be in one grade higher at the beginning of 2011. So, grade 1 level tests will bewritten by grade 2 learners, grade 2 level tests by grade 3 learners, grade 3 level tests bygrade 4 learners, grade 4 level tests by grade 5 learners, grade 5 level tests by grade 6learners, grade 6 level tests by grade 7 learners and grade 9 level tests by grade 10learners. Grade 1 learners who will be new from grade R will not sit for any test in 2011.
