Jake DeBlanc was honored

this week at the Golden Tri-

angle Barnes and Noble for

finishing in 1st place for Blan-

ton in the Adopt-A-School

essay contest. The theme

this year was “My school is

great because….”. Jake wrote

a poem outlining wonderful

teaching staff, special area

classes, special programs and

clubs. Jake’s essay was a great

representation of why Blan-

ton is a great school!

Way to go, Jake!

Thank you to this week’s

Watch DOGS for their

time and energy working

with students. We appre-

ciate you! If you are in-

terested in this program

and need information,

please contact our PTA.

two future events including

the USA Gold Finals in Gal-

veston. The girls really were

glad to participate in the

Spirit of Hope competition

as it was named for young

cheerleader who lost her

life to cancer.

We wish these girls luck on

their future competitions.

Fourth graders, Annabelle

Begin, Tori Linn, and Ma-

kayla Rose are members of

the Excite Love team and

placed 1st at the Spirit of

Hope competition in Char-

lotte, NC last weekend. The

team of 16 competed for

two days and have earned a

spot at the San Antonio

competition in two weeks.

Because of their hard work

they have earned a bid at

Classroom

Too busy to cook din-

ner? Well you are in luck as Savory Bistro will be

partnering with the Blan-ton PTA next week to

introduce our families to take out meals. For the

week of Jan. 23-29, Sa-vory Bistro will provide a special package dinner

for four. Families may choose to order that or

any other of their menu

items.

The menu is available

online so you can view it, place an order and write

from Blanton families.

Lane. This will help al-

low traffic to exit the

driveway and move

more smoothly.

Once again, thank you for

all you do to keep our stu-

dents safe.

Thank you for your help

keeping our students and

staff safe during arrival and

dismissal times. We would

like to ask your assistance in

two ways:

Stay off of cell phones

while in the school

zone which includes

while waiting in the car

lines.

Do not block the car-

Kindergarteners are learning to research

using books, pictures and videos. They

are discovering the parts of a polar bear

that help it feed, move, and protect

itself as well as its habitat.

Third graders are research-

ing a topic of their choice

working with or without a

partner. Students are creat-

ing a slide show to share

their new learning.

Blanton Mission

We will work collaboratively to ensure high levels of learning for ALL

students, while inspiring and empowering them to become safe, respect-

ful, and caring learners.

DENTON ISD

We wanted to spotlight Lisa Dorrell this week. Not

only is she your child’s PE teacher, but she is continu-

ally seeking ways to help our students grow in their

service to others and provide experiences they may

not otherwise have. This school year she has orga-

nized several special events/groups.

KORT (Knights of the Round Table) are our 5th

graders who greet students as they exit from

cars at arrival time.

Socktober was our sock donation which was

done in conjunction with the Salvation Army.

Halloween Candy donation was given to the

Salvation Army to help with gifts to children in

need.

EXCITE gym came to give experiences of bal-

ance and other gym activities..

Holiday Parade was a fun time for students to

showcase their talents in building a holiday

themed float.

We are appreciate Mrs. Dorrell and her dedication

to our students.
