127 4 A--Male predisposition A>CThere are contradictory reports about the involvement of second division or the third division, though second division is more
commonly involved. But male predisposition is defntly false. I think now it is clear . Answering mcq depends on logical reasoning
Oral path 143 53 Down’s syndrome is associated with all except
a) Maxillary retrognathia(AP 03)
b) Periodontal diseasec) Premature loss of deciduous teethd) Delayed eruption of deciduous teeth
Ans. ‘A’ - Maxillary retrognathia.
Option D needs to be changed
53. Down’s syndrome is associated with all excepta) Maxillary retrognathiab) Periodontal diseasec) Delayed eruption of deciduous teethd) overretained deciduous teeth
Ans should be D--- because there is Premature loss of deciduous teeth it becomes an exception and correct answer

429 114 Moon face is seen ina. Le Fort Ib. Le Fort IIc. Le Fort IIId. Orbital fracturesAns is B- Le Fort II
Ans is B>C
Moon face is common in le fort II ( midface fracturs) and le fort III due to fullness caused by oedema by fracture of maxilla. This ballooning of the features is not seen in Le Fort I fractures ,but some odema may be present. Moon facies is definitely absent in isolated zygomatic fractures.
429/430
117 In exp part moon facies is given in leforte 1 Moon facies is present in leforte II to be specific in maxillary fractures
Though in typical lefortI moon face is not seen. But some times odema may occur. where as in zygomatic complex fractures this fullness is lost in the face and definitely moon facies is not present in isolated zygomatic fractures

432 139. D—none of the above Ans is A—only the first statement is correct and hence the correct answer
B and C are false statements. Diploplia resolves it self and we have to wait and watch and see
Surgery to prevent enophthalmos should probably be discouraged, since it is impossible to predict who will develop enophthalmos and how enophthalmos will affect the patient (i.e., the patient may not be bothered by it). Furthermore, studies support the notion that enophthalmos is corrected equally well when addressed several weeks after an injury when compared to repair
within the “two week window.”
Surgery is indicated if
Enophthalmos greater than 2mm Double vision on primary or inferior gaze Entrapment of extraocular muscles Fracture greater than 50% of the orbital floor
434 150. Not true about nasal bleed and their source
a) Anterior aspect of nasal wall – nasal branch of facial artery.
b) Septal wall – Anterior and posterior ethmoidal arteries.
c) Superiolateral nasal wall – Anterior and posterior ethmoidal arteries.
d) Posterior aspect of nasal wall – greater palatine and superior labial arteries
Ans –D
Ans _D- answer is correct
Please read the exp
Statement in Option- D is False because Sphenopalatine( nasopalatine ) is mainly responsibkle for severe posterior nasal bleeds. It supplies posterior inferior surface os septum as well as posterior lateral nasal wall. The superior labial atery of facial artery contributes to bleeding in the anterior inferior area of nasal septum called as Little’s area or Kiesselbach’s area and not in the posterior area.
Option A is correct because the anterior aspect of the nasal wall is supplied by nasal branch and superiorlabial branches of facial artery
Option B and C is also correct because Anterior ethmoid supplies anterolateral wall as well as anterior superior part of septum. Posterior ethmoidal supplies posterior nasal septum and
anastomis with sphenopalatine

Ans A- The statement is wrong as it measures only gingivitis and not periodontitis.
Ans is A
Some students have expressed that option D is wrong- but in PMA ; maximum score for P is 0-5; M is0- 3 and A is 0-3 that is maximum is 11.

The main disadvantage of autogenous iliac crest graft placed in an infra bony pocket is
a) Infectionb) Root resorptionc) Cell mediated immunityd) Arthus phenomenon
Ans B- root resoption
Root resorption is reported as a sequela of osseous grafting in humans but appears to be a significant disadvantage only with fresh iliac cancellous bone and marrow

This problem comes becomes the number of zeroes given in decimals after pointAgain this I think misrepresented optionsSo from above thing we can see that 0.001 inch cannot be option( because 0.0015 is greater than 0.001 ) Any thing 0.002 , 0.003 0.004 inch can be correct according to sturdventSo dear friens don’t waste time. Ans is D- same
This is also one of the controversial question
See the two inconclusive statements
Occurrence of external root resorption with multinucleated odontoclast associated with experimental tooth movement in pulpectomized tooth were lesser and later than those of vital teeth.
Root-filled teeth showed greater loss of cementum after tooth movement than vital teeth (p < 0.05), but without significant differences in radiographic root length

ortho 1287 Q 24-q 27 No correction in answers Dear students –This confusion prevailed due to difference in terminology used by authors is different. So in kar-2009 paper, it is given as interruptive force is produced by the headhears and face masks
I have gone through some 4-5 books now and I found everybody is following the profit now and I think the answer should be intermittent for headgears
Let us refresh our knowledge Any force that falls abrupt to zero is called an intermittent force. This is possible with the appliances that are removed from the mouth . All the removable appliances including active plates( screws), headgears, myofunctional appliances are all intermittent in nature.
Any force that declines to zero before activations is called interruptive.
If we go still deep- frankly speaking a screw produces interuptive forces that is once you activate a screw and keep it in the mouth and following tooth movements, after some time, the screw exerts no force at all. Now at this point of time it has to be reactivated.
Now again if a screw is used as removable appliance it becomes intermittent. If removable-it is intermittent and nothing is mentioned it is interruptivei

According to Mc Cracken's 12th ed. chapter 5 The following are the principal objections to use of the U-shaped connector:
1. Its lack of rigidity (compared with other designs) can allow lateral flexure under occlusal forces, which mayinduce torque or direct lateral force to abutment teeth.
2. The design fails to provide good support characteristics and may permit impingement of underlying tissuewhen subjected to occlusal loading.
3. Bulk to enhance rigidity results in increased thickness in areas that are a hindrance to the tongue......Without sufficient bulk, the U-shaped design leads to increased flexibility and movement at the open ends, and so the stability is compromised

Community 1484 6. Ans D- Health for all Ans is C-Social engineering
Four phases could be demarcated:
Phase one: Disease control phase (1880-1920):Public Health during the 19th century was a matter of sanitary legislation and sanitary reform aimed at the control of human physical environment e.g. safe water supply and waste disposal.
Phase two: Health promotional phase (1921-1960); At the beginning of the 20th century the concept of health promotion emerged. As a result, in addition to disease control activities,
one more goal was initiated as personal health service e.g. MCH, school health mental health, occupational health, and rehabilitation services.
Phase three: Social engineering phase (1961-1980):
With advances of preventive medicine and practice of public health, the pattern of disease began to change in the developed countries; many of the acute health problems have been under control, however chronic conditions such as cancers, Diabetes mellitus (DM), cardiovascular diseases (CVD), and alcoholism and drug addiction occurred. These chronic health problems could not be tackled by the traditional approaches to public health (i.e. isolation, immunization and disinfection) nor they can be explained on basis of the germ theory (biomedical) of disease). The concept of risk factors (social, environmental, genetic and lifestyle) came into action as determinants of disease.
Phase four: Primary Health Care (PHC), Health for All (HFA) 2000 (1981-2000) phase.
The unequality of health care in developed and developing countries made WHO experts to meet at Al-Mata in 1981, and to come out with
the declaration HFA 2000. This declaration aims at attainment of a health level that permits all people to lead a socially and economically productive life. HFA2000 does not mean absence of disease, it means health service should be available, accessible and affordable to all people, and it should be scientifically sound.
