El Delta de l ’Ebre, amb 320 Km2 de superfície, és la zona humida més important de Catalunya i la segona de la península Ibèrica. Les seves caracte-rístiques geogràfiques i el seu alt valor natural, tant de flora com de fauna
(al Delta s’han observat més de 350 espècies d’aus), converteixen aquest indret en un lloc d’especial interès per la descoberta de la natura.

The Ebro Delta covers an area of 320 km2 and is the largest wetland in Catalonia and the second largest in the Iberian Peninsula. Its geographical features and the high natural value of its flora and
fauna (over 350 species of birds have been observed in the Delta), make it a place of special interest at which to discover nature.
If you wish to see the entire Delta without missing any of its most interesting spots, we recommend you visit any of the information centres, at which you will be given a thorough explanation of how to get
there. Travelling in one’s own vehicle to reach all the areas of interest is the ideal way. Do not forget, either, that on a bicycle trip you will be able to enjoy the scenery and, above all, observe the birds, in peace and quiet.

MOLÍ DELS MIRONS
Mirador situat a l’entrada del municipi (Jesús i Maria) amb zona de picnic i des d’on es pot gaudir d’una magnífica panoràmica del riu Ebre i l’Illa de Gràcia.
Punt d’inici del carril bici que segueix el passeig fluvial fins al final del poble, amb un total de 6 km.

MUNTELL DE LES VERGES
Duna de 4m d’alçada, situ-ada al marge esquerre del riu, molt prop de la desem-bocadura, que és el punt més alt del Delta, des d’on es pot veure l’Illa de Buda.
És el punt d’inici de l’itine-rari autoguiat pel Garxal, de 2’5 Km, que acaba a la torre d’observació de la platja de riumar.
També és el punt d’inici del Camí de Sant Jaume de l’Ebre i de la ruta cicloturis-ta de turisme familiar.
This dune, which has a height of 4 metres and is located on the right bank of the river, very close to the river mouth, is the highest point in the Delta and af-fords views of the Illa de Buda.
Garxal auto guided itinerary starting point with 2,5 km (1,5 mi) length, finishing at riumar’s beach watchtower.
It is also the starting point of Way of Saint James of the Ebro and the bicycle route for families.

On very sunny days mirages can be seen and these, together with the vastness and beauty of the site, give the place special character.

El paisatge de Deltebre ens permet fer exercici físic i salut d’una manera lúdica i agradable, adequant la intensitat a les nostres condicions, en ple contacte amb la natura.
En tractar-se d’un territori completament pla, el Delta convida a llargues passejades a peu i en bicicleta per la vora del riu, entre arrossars o per extenses platges d’arena que, a més, ens permeten una millor observació del paisatge, la flora, la fauna i les activitats tradicionals.
També és un veritable plaer practicar esports aquàtics com el rem, el piragüisme i la vela per les tranquil·les aigües de l’Ebre, o bé el surf, windsurf, kate-surf... per la zona de riumar o el Fangar, ja que diferents tipus de vent, de diversa intensitat ho afavoreixen.
The Deltebre landscape allows for pleasant and leisurely physical exercise, adapted to the intensity of the conditions and in full contact with nature.
The Delta is a completely flat area and therefore ideal for long walks and cycle rides by the riverbank, among rice paddies or along long sandy beaches that provide a better view of the landscape, the flora, the fauna and traditional activities.
It is also a genuine pleasure to do water sports such as rowing, canoeing and sailing on the calm waters of the Ebro, and surfing, windsurfing, or kite surfing in the riumar or El Fangar zone, which are favoured by different wind types of diverse intensity.

El Delta és un paradís per als aficionats a la pesca, tant d’aigua dolça com salada; espècies autòctones com les carpes, llobarros, orades o palometes conviuen al riu juntament amb altres introduïdes per l’home, com el silur i la gambúsia. Els amants d’aquest esport, tindreu l’oportunitat de fer sortides de pesca, acompanyats de guies que són experts pescadors i coneixedors de la zona.
cREuERs FLuVIALs, PAssEJADEs EN BARcA
En els seus trenta últims quilòmetres, l’Ebre recorre la plana deltaica fins arribar a la
desembocadura. A Deltebre, tots els que ens visiteu , tindreu l’oportunitat de gaudir del
riu, fent recorreguts guiats amb el vaixell turístic, o bé amb petites embarcacions fins a indrets d’especial interès com la mateixa
desembocadura, la Gola de Migjorn, les Illes de St. Antoni, Buda, Gràcia i Sapinya.
Hi ha la possibilitat de sortir des de Deltebre i fer un recorregut que aproximadament
dura 1,30h fins la desembocadura i tornar.
També es pot embarcar a l’Embarcador de l’Illa de Buda i realitzar un recorregut de 45 minuts.
Si teniu interès en arribar a altres indrets del riu, podeu trucar abans a les empreses que
organitzen creuers per reservar amb antelació.
RIVER CRUISES, BOAT TRIPS
In its last thirty kilometres, the Ebro flows through the deltaic plain until it reaches the river mouth. Everyone who visits Deltebre will have the chance to enjoy the river and to
take guided trips on a tourist vessel or on small boats to places of special interest such as the
river mouth itself, La Gola de Migjorn, and the islands of St. Antoni, Buda, Gràcia and Sapinya.
One may also leave Deltebre and take a trip of approximately one and a half hours
to the river mouth and back again.
A 45-minute trip may also be taken from the Illa de Buda quayside.
If you are interested in visiting other spots on the river, you may call the companies that organise cruises
to make advance reservations.
FISHING
The Delta is a paradise for lovers of both freshwater and sea fishing; native species including carp, sea bass, gilthead bream and ray’s bream live in the river alongside others introduced by man such as the European catfish and the mosquito fish. Fishing may take fishing trips accompanied by guides who are both expert fishermen and know the area.

CAMÍ DE SANT JAUME DE L’EBRE
El camí de St. Jaume de l’Ebre comença a la comarca del Baix Ebre, passa pel Montsià i la Terra alta i segueix cap aragó i la rioja, on s’uneix al camí francès a l’alçada de Logronyo.
Concretament aquest camí comença al Muntell de les Verges, una duna fixa de 4m situada molt prop de la desembocadura. Continua vorejant l’Ebre i més endavant, entre els arrossars. aquests fan que canviï el paisatge al llarg de l’any degut al cicle natural de l’arròs: terrossos a l’hivern, inundats d’aigua a la primavera, verds a ple estiu i daurats a final d’agost i principi de setembre, quan comença l’època de segar.
un cop s’arriba al municipi de Deltebre, el camí torna a trobar-se amb el riu pel passeig fluvial, que rep el nom d’avinguda reinosa, fins arribar al pas de barques de Garriga on es travessa el riu fins a Sant Jaume d’Enveja.

El camí natural de l’Ebre ressegueix el curs del riu des del naixement de l’Ebre (Fontibre) fins la desembocadura. un total de 1150 quilòmetres dividits en 59 trams de 20 km. que creuen Cantàbria, Castella Lleó, La rioja, el País Basc, Navarra, aragó i Catalunya.
al municipi de Deltebre, aquest camí va des del Zigurat (desembocadura de l’Ebre) fins al Mirador del Molí dels Mirons, continuant per la vora del riu fins a la finca del Capità, on comença el terme municipal de l’aldea.

WAY OF SAINT JAMES OF THE EBRO
The Way of Saint James of the Ebro starts in the county of El baix Ebre, travels through Montsià and la Terra Alta, and then continues to Aragon and la Rioja, where it joins the French path at logroño.
The exact starting point of this path is at El Muntell de les Verges, a fixed dune with a height of 4 metres, located very near the river mouth. It continues along the bank of the Ebro and enters the rice paddies further ahead. The landscape here changes throughout the year because of the natural cycle of rice: it is earthy in winter, flooded with water in spring, green in midsummer and golden at the end of August and at start of September, when the harvesting season begins.
On arriving in the municipality of Deltebre, the Way encounters the river again along the riverside avenue called Avinguda Reinosa, finishing at the Garriga’s ferry service used to reach Sant Jaume d’Enveja on the other side of the river.

The Ebro Nature Path follows the course of the river from the source of the Ebro (Fontibre) to the river mouth. It covers a total of 1150 kilometres and is divided into 59 stretches of 20 km, which cross Cantabria, Castile leon, la Rioja, the basque Country, Navarra, Aragon and Catalonia.

ÉS AQUÍ, ON SOMIEN MENJAR ELS DEUS
La gent del Delta tenim la sort de viure en un entorn natural del qual, des de sempre, s’han aprofitat els recursos com a principal font de vida. La cuina n’és un clar exemple, ja que, tradicionalment, ha estat elaborada amb productes d’excel·lent qualitat que, combinats amb la desimboltura que caracteritza els nostres professionals, esdevé un dels principals atractius de la nostra terra.

Es pesquen els exemplars adults i també les angules, de menys de 10 cm. Es cuina a la cassola amb suc, amb arròs o xapadillo que es l’anguila oberta i assecada al sol, i cuinada a la brasa o rostida.

D’una gran qualitat, gràcies a les aigües del Delta i un acurat procés de depuració.
Ostró
Juntament amb els musclos constitueixen la cria i producció de marisc més destacada del Delta. La seva carn es consumeix fresca, sense cap tipus de manipulació.

Baldana d’arròs
És l’embotit càrnic més popular i conegut del territori. S’elabora farcint un budell amb sang de tocino, arròs, cansalada, pebre negre i sal (algunes vegades també duu pinyons)
Baldana de ceba
S’elabora amb la sang i les carns greixoses del porc.
Pastisset de cabell d’àngel
És una pasta seca, molt saborosa, ensucrada per damunt, feta amb oli d’oliva, farina, sucre i aiguardent i farcida amb confitura de cabell d’àngel o de moniato.
Paracotes
S’elaboren amb una figa seca arrebossada amb una pasta feta amb ou, un rajolí de llet, un d’anís, i una mica de pell de llimona ratllada.
El seu nom té l’origen en que antigament, la gent del poble es reunia en diumenge per la tarda per ballar la jota. a l’hora de berenar, menjaven paracotes, i d’aquí el seu nom, perquè era un dolç per a (“para”) la jota (“cota”).

Fresh products:
Eels
adult eels and elvers of a length of below 10 cm are fished. They are casseroled with stock and with rice or xapadillo: an eel opened, dried in the sun, and conserved with salt.
Mussels
Of very high quality because of the waters of the Delta and a careful treatment process.
Oysters
The breeding and production of oysters, alongside mussels, is the most significant seafood farming activity in the Delta. Their meat is eaten fresh without any manipulation of any kind.

Blood and rice sausage
This is the zone’s most popular and best-known cold pork product. It is made by stuffing an intestine with pig’s blood, rice, streaked bacon, black pepper and salt (pine kernels are also sometimes added)
Onion sausage
Made with pig’s blood and fatty meat.
Sweet pumpkin pastry
This is a very tasty dry pastry that is sugared on the top and made with olive oil, flour, sugar and liqueur, and stuffed with sweet pumpkin or yam.
Paracotes
These are made from dried figs that are surrounded with batter made with egg, a little milk, anisette, and a little grated lemon peel.
Their name originates in the fact that, of old, the people of the village would gather together on Sunday afternoon to dance the jota. at the time for their afternoon snack, they ate paracotes, and hence their name, as these were sweets for (“para”) the jota (“cota”).
