DPA Server platformsMemory requirements

Hard Disk Drive requirements:

l 18 GB of locally attached disk storage for the Application server

l 20 GB of locally attached disk storage for the Datastore Server

n 3GB of free space are required for database upgrade

Note

Co-located Application and Datastore systems are not supported in productionsystems. Although the installer provides a co-located system option, when it isselected, a dialogue stating that it is not supported in a production systemsdisplays.

l The DPA Application server and DPA Datastore servers must not be used to runother applications. The DPA Application server host and DPA Datastore serverhost resources must be dedicated to DPA.

l If running DPA in a virtualized environment the allocated CPU and memory mustbe reserved for the DPA servers

l The DPA installer has a soft threshold of 7892 MB and a hard threshold of 5844MB. The soft threshold allows the installation to continue, but the hard thresholddoes not.

l Automatic sizing and tuning of internal DPA resource usage takes place duringinstallation. If resources (CPU, Memory) are taken away from the installation byother applications performance of DPA could be adversely affected.

l Java Runtime Environment 1.7 and later (64-bit)

l 100 GB disk space for the host on which the DataProcessor tool runs

l 6.2 and later Server and Agent to collect the extra information

DPA Server platformsDPA servers support for 64-bit operating systems only. Work with your EMC AccountRepresentative to determine appropriate sizing for your environment.

Hard Disk Drive requirements:

l 8GB RAM/2 cores for the DPA Datastore server

l 8GB RAM/2 cores for the DPA Application Server

Note

Co-located Application and Datastore systems are not supported in productionsystems. Although the installer provides a co-located system option, when it isselected, a dialogue stating that it is not supported in a production systemsdisplays.
