PrayDear Jesus, we thank You for welcoming all people to come to You. We need You, Jesus. We need Your love and strength. We need You because of our sins. We can do nothing to save ourselves from them. Thank You for loving us so much You died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins. Thank You for Your blessings of for-giveness of sins, new life, faith in You, and a place in Your kingdom. In Your name we pray. Amen.

Lesson 1

Jesus Welcomes the ChildrenMatthew 19:13–15; Luke 18:15–17

The crowds were bringing children to Jesus that He might touch them.

The disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, He was angry. He said to the disciples, “Let the children come to Me. Do not hinder them. For to such belongs

the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

And He took the children in His arms. He blessed them, laying His hands on them.

God wants me to be part of His family.

Jesus surprised His disciples when He welcomed little children, even babies, to come to Him. He didn’t ask if they deserved it. He just did it. You can open your arms and

welcome children too. Tell them about God’s great love in sending Jesus as the Savior of all. Pray with them and for them, asking God to bless them. As a family, greet people coming to church next week. Just stick out your hand, smile, and share a welcome.
