KINDERGARTEN:

We provide our children the nourishment to grow and the wings to fly. We also acknowledge that kindergarten is the most appropriate place to start in order to bring out the best from the students. In the month of Au-gust important events like Independence Day, Janmashtmi and Raksha Bandhan were celebrated with the Kindergarten. On Independence Day the students came disguised as National Heroes and enacted them. On Janmashtmi the tiny tots of nursery, prep-1 and prep-2 together per-

CLASSES I & II:

On the occasion of Independence Day the special assembly was held by Students of Class 1, they performed in activities like:

English speech; delivered by Nainika, Varitika and Inayat Grewal. Hindi speech; delivered by Taisiya, Nabhya and Shabd Bajaj. Punjabi speech; delivered by Sehaj, Amanat and Japveer Singh. English poem “I salute my Flag” was recited by Jannat, Avreet Singh,

Adit and Rudra Pratap. Hindi Poem “Pyara Pyara Mera Desh”was presented by the girls of

Class 1 Punjabi poem “Asin Bharat Di Shaan Banange”; recited by all the stu-

dents. Dance “Ye Mera India” was staged by Class 1.

Class 2 participated in the Rakhi making activity preparing Rakhi’s for their brothers and sisters. On Independence Day collage making activity was done as class room activity.

SPECIAL MORNING ASSEMBLIES:

The Delhi Public School, Sangrur celebrated all important days in the school campus. Special assemblies were held on the occasions of Independence Day, Janmashtmi and Raksha Band-han.

The school choir and other students from almost all the classes presented beautiful items like songs, dances, poems, Skits and speeches to elaborate the significance of each festival. The assemblies ended with the traditional singing of the school song followed by our National An-them.

INTER DPS DANCE COMPETITION AT CHANDIGARH:

An inter DPS dance competition was held at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh (DPS Dance Festival 2016) on August 20, 2016 wherein our students Priyanka Kansal, Khushi Jain, Ekta Sharma, Keerat, Bhumika Aggarwal, Ankita Bamnia, Sumanjeet Kaur, Kudrat Kaur partici-pated winning sixth position in the North Zone and first position in Punjab Zone.

SOME OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE MONTH OF AUG:

Card making activity for all the classes was also a part of this month’s activities. Students’ self made motivational cards were sent to our Army Jawans through the Sangrur cantonment au-thority. Some of our students visited the Pingalwara on the World Humanitarian Day and do-nated some utility articles along with some cash collected out of their own pocket money.

Inter class Roller Skating Competition was also held at the school Skating Rink.

TEACHERS’DAY: A special assembly was conducted by the students on the occasion of teachers day by performing songs, dances, poems, speech, skit etc. as their symbolic gratitude towards their teachers and honoured them with flowers. They also organized party games for the teachers. The celebrations ended with the traditional singing of the school song followed by our National Anthem.

SOME OTHER ACTIVITIES ON THE MONTH OF SEPT: ‘

The Seed Art Activity’ for the students of Class-II on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi was a treat for eyes. Students drew the images of Lord Ganesha on charts and studded them with col-ourful seeds.

Poster making competition

was held in the school for the Juniors (classes 4 to 6) and for the Seniors (classes 7 to 9).The shortlisted creations from these posters have been sent to CBSE.
