DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL NADERGUL
SOCIETY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2017
“BIENVENUE A VOUS TOUS POUR LA NOUVELLE ANNEE ACADEMIQUE”
Zuzu takes pleasure in inviting all of you to another fun filled academic year 2017 – 18. My school Delhi Public
School, Nadergul enjoyed an enriching academic session last year which also saw our school flag flying high in
areas of academics, sports & curricular activities. Our school has also been marked for its various green service
initiatives that we took up last year. As a proud member of Delhi Public School family Zuzu congratulates each
and every one who has been a part of this wonderful success journey.
The Re-opening Day:
We were all welcomed on June 7th by our school and also with the blessings of God showering on us as the first
monsoon showers opened in the first week of June. With the climate calming down and a gentle zephyr tousling
our heads we walked in to the portals of our school building with smiles across our faces. Ohh!! How much zuzu
missed his school!!!!!! And what a surprise as students of grades 5, 6, 7 enjoyed their new class rooms in the new
3rd floor that was inaugurated on the re-opening day.
Our morning assembly which was earlier conducted in the portico now spread out in the green carpeted cricket
ground. Our new music band of teachers welcomed us with new school song and welcome song.
We began on an auspicious note singing a devotional song, the slokas in the almanac and promised that
we would continue the legacy of making the school one of the best.
The pre-primary friends on mine joined us a week later. The school echoed with the happy shrieks of our
fellow mates and on the other hand the baby cries of the pre – nursery children. Some of them walked in
Shakespeare’s language “Creeping like a snail, unwillingly to school”
A packet of popcorn and a tasty muffin added the flavor to the joy of the re-opening day.
Zuzu was busy too as there were lots of new friends to make and lots of new teachers to be friends with.
Environment month:
June, all over the world is known for the environment celebrations. Delhi Public School Nadergul received an
honorary mention from the ITC last year for its massive recycling drive contributing more than 2500kg of paper to
be recycled. This year too the ITC forms were distributed and all my friends decided to continue with recycle,
reduce and reuse as the prime ideas for the whole year.
My grade 7 friends culminated the weeklong celebrations with a road show on “Go Green, Be Green “
All parents of the school were presented with a green pledge sticker that they signed and pasted on their cars.
A rose patch from the students of grade 5, sowing seeds by students of grade 1&2, a veggie day by Grade 3 all
added to the weeklong green celebrations.
ETIQUETTE WEEK:
“SORRY”, “PLEASE” and “THANK YOU” are the magic words that open doors to many things. Values
and manners are ingrained in us, in our activities, in the assembly and in our daily life. Our corridors also have
simple manners reminding us of our etiquettes again and again.
Students of grade 1 & 2 reiterated these values during their etiquette and manners week.
The pre-primary also conducted the table etiquette week where usage of fork, spoon, eating manners
were discussed and taught.
Father’s day Celebration:
“I thank you dad for giving me all that I need, all that I love and I thank you dad from the bottom of my
heart.
Father’s day... a day to honor, respect and remember the unconditional love that we all receive from our
dads was celebrated by all of us at Nadergul. While some of us prepared Thank You cards for our dads, some
students prepared reading cards, some took a book marks for their dads while some painted the hands of their
dads in their scrap books.
Zuzu understands that one day in a calendar is not enough to express this love for their loved one. Yet
the day was celebrated where zuzu penned a poem for his loving dad.
Elections:
While India readies itself for general elections once in 5 years, the election fever in Nadergul is every year.
The month of June sees the elections for student council announced, the ballot boxes prepared, heated
debates are heard and the corridors buzz with the election campaigns of leaders. This ends with the online
elections where every student leader is elected by a democratic process involving all students, teachers and
admin personnel.
Students and parents also eagerly wait for the results as the badge of leadership is a highly coveted one
at Delhi Public School Nadergul. The election results were announced and the student council stands as:

Leadership starts young at Delhi Public School, Nadergul. New leaders are identified trained and nurtured right
from the pre – primary age. It is a sight to be held when the student council march with the young pre – primary
contingent leading the team. For zuzu it is a moment of pride when he sees the young leaders speaking in
confidence, taking up leadership on their tender shoulders right from a very young age.
“Zuzu also takes the opportunity to invite all of you to the
2nd Investiture Ceremony on July 8th, 2017.”
Ramzan Celebrations:
“Allah humma lakasamtu Wabika amantu wa laika tawakkal tu wala risrika aftartu wata khabbal minni duaey”
Unity in diversity, belief in the religion of humanity, trust in the oneness of god… All these are the elements that
go into our lives as a Delhi public School student.
The festival of Eid after the month long fasting and sacrifice, was celebrated in the school with the rendition
of verses from the Quran, with the sweet SheerKurma distributed among all and the message about the festival
shared in true earnest.
International Music Day:
Festival of Ramzan coincided with the International Music day celebrations and the teachers & students
of Delhi Public School, Nadergul swayed to a melody of fusion with the classical and western notes synchronizing
in the world of music.
With July already ready with its monsoon activities and the school ready for its new adventures it’s time for zuzu
to bid farewell to all of you. See you soon in July.
