Special Visit – Criminal Courts and High Courts 9th and 13th November,2015

On the 9th of and the 13th of November 2015, the students of class XII of Delhi Public School Hyderabad visited the Criminal Courts Complex at Nampally and the High Court of Judicature of Telangana and Andhra states at Hyderabad. As future law course aspirants, this trip would be ingrained in the memories of students as their first brush with the judicial system of India. They were privileged enough to witness actual proceedings in the Criminal Court where they came across people accused of various crimes. It was a nerve racking experience as witnesses were cross examined one after the other by the ever so patient judge. The High Court was even more impressive with its grand architecture dating back to the Nizam’s era. The Courtrooms were spacious and they had the opportunity to be at the Chief Justice‘s Court. His experience and knowledge was reflected in the way he conducted himself and his words left a deep impact on the students

The human mind will not be confined to any limits,’ Inspired by this saying the students of class VII presented a wide horizon of talent of the young Dipsites who entertained and enthralled the audience. The theme of the show was ‘a cerebral confluence.’ While practicing to portray the different segments of the brain, the students understood that the brain is the source of all the qualities that define our humanity. The brain is the crown jewel of the human body and just as our body strength grows with exercise so does the brain power improve by increasing brain use. The students presented dances, songs and skits demonstrating feelings, wisdom, rhythm, peace & passion, creativity and colour, humour and intellect. The high point of the programme was the creative presentation of three folk dances shown simultaneously and the optical illusion dance presented in black and white. The innovative use of mask and two-in-one costume pattern in these dances generated the loudest applause. The performance of the students was well appreciated by the dignitaries, Principal Mrs. Rekha Aggarwala and all the parents. Repertoire – A Range of Emotions. 22nd November, 2015

Celebration of Constitution Day 26th November, 2015

Students relived the spirit of the most important document governing our nation, i.e. ‘The Constitution’, as they celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ on 26th November, 2015. The day began with a special assembly highlighting the importance of the constitution of India. A soulful rendition of a patriotic song set the spirit of patriotism and a sense of nationality agog in the campus. A talk show describing the significance of the constitution as understood through the perspectives of different students was presented. Through the discussion it emerged that students regarded the constitution as representing the ideals of the preamble and as an instrument to uphold and safeguard the rights of the citizens. This was followed by the administration of the preamble as a pledge by the Deputy Head Boy, Abhinav Jasti of Class X. The message conveyed by the preamble of the constitution was creatively portrayed through vibrant and colourful posters made by the students of Class VIII. The entire process was a very fruitful and enriching experience for the students as they learned in great detail the significance of one of the most important documents of our nation. ‘The Constitution.’

Our Sports Stars Delhi Public School, Hyderabad played host to Ms. Nathalie, a world class women’s WNBA player on Thursday, 5th November, 2015. She was able to take precious time from her busy schedule to further the talents of students who wish to pursue a career in basketball. She was also able to introduce the sport to a number of youngsters who had not yet taken their first step into the exciting and challenging world of basketball. Accompanied by Assistant coach, Mr. Uday, she started off with a few warm ups and went on to teach the basics of basketball. Right from showing the players how to pass and dribble, to the correct method of shooting using simple stances (frog croch, flamingo stance & then a giraffe,), she was an excellent teacher and the students thoroughly enjoyed the one hour session. Kaivalya Lakshmi of Class VII bagged an individual Third place and the Gold medal in the

team event at a badminton tournament held by Badminton Association of Telangana State at

the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium on 6th November, 2015.

Adhiti. T and Aarti of Classes X and IX won the Gold and Silver Medals in shooting at the

State Level Tournament held by School Games Federation of India. Adithi is selected for

Nationals to be held in the month January 2016.
