This Almanac is intended to be used by students to record their

school activities and homework.

Parents are requested to refer to it daily to keep in touch with the day-

to-day progress of their wards. The homework set must be done by

the students unaided. Parents and tutors may guide their wards and

help them overcome certain difficulties but spoon-feeding should be

avoided. It is being emphasised in school that homework should be

set on topics with which children are familiar and the unknown should

be explored in the classroom with the help of teachers themselves.

This Almanac will establish a valuable liaison between the teachers

and the parents with regard to the quality of work being attempted by

the students in the school and at home. It will be good to remember

that any comments made herein must refer only to the student’s

work and conduct.

The purpose will not be served if any criticism of the teaching methods

or condition at home enters these pages bringing the home and the

school at variance with each other. Such criticism can be conveyed

in a separate letter addressed to the Principal, who will go into these

matters personally.

The school reserves the right to add, alter, amend or cancel

any of the rules / regulations given in this almanac at any time

at its discretion which will be binding on parents / guardians.

Group Discussion and Communicative Skills classes are compulsory

for each and every student from Class VI onwards. This develops fluency and accuracy in spoken English with updated awareness of current topics and has brought fruitful results.

HAPPINESS CLASS

Happiness Class is a part of the school curriculum. It is an educational initiative to de-stress students, to bring about a healthier and happier relationship between teachers and students. It is a platform which provides students, to express talent and creativity, ensuring quality and decorum within a prescribed framework.

REFORMATORY MEASURES

Reformatory Measures are formulated to help students with behavioural disorders and non-adherence to school rules, regulations and norms. It is with the belief that the core component of every child is goodness and reformatory measures would reform the child and bring him into the mainstream of the class with a better standard of conduct.

So instead of punishments, we have reformatory measures. This is a complete charter of behavioural disorders that have time and again been exhibited by students and their reformatory measures as and when implemented have been effective in producing positive changes. For example; If a student destroys school property, the child is assigned the task of cataloging or covering of books in the library, cleaning of a specified area on campus, preparation of ‘sorry’ or ‘get-well’ cards and so on.

HOUSE SYSTEM

There are six Houses in the school - Ganga, Jamuna, Raavi, Chenab, Sutlej and Jhelum. Every student, on admission is placed in one of these Houses.

Each House is headed by a student designated as House Captain. A member of the staff, assisted by several other teachers (tutors), acts as the House Warden. Points are awarded to the students throughout the year for their performance in extra curricular activities, games and sports. Points are also awarded to individual students and groups for their performance in competitions.

Inter-House competitions are organised and trophies are awarded to Houses for their performance in literary, cultural and sports activities. Every outstanding student is given a certificate for his/ her

performance in these competitions.

permanent impact on the learners, making learning convenient,

easy and interesting.

E-REPORT

Keeping in tune with global trends & technological progress the

school enables parents of classes Nursery to XII to view online, the

performance of their wards in the 1st Term just before Open Day.

This e-report takes into consideration the overall performance of a

student from April to September.

Parents receive the comprehensive report of their ward’s overall

performance in the entire academic session on Open Days, held in

the month of March.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Experiential Learning is part of holistic education promoted by

Educational Boards. This method gives maximum exposure of

the outside world to the students so that they imbibe Knowledge,

Values and Etiquettes, Culture and Skill, to become human beings

with broader spectrum which is the need of the times in a diversified

country like India. Thus, to provide ample opportunities for learning,

students of all classes are taken on Field Trips, Treks, Camps and

Excursions to places also. Further, all students of classes VI to XII

are taken to places outside the District/ State within India & Abroad

for Educational Trips and Excursion Programmes. Based on the

performance of the students in such activities, marks / grades are

awarded.

SPECIAL SUPPLEMENTARY CLASSES

Education today comprises competence, knowledge and skill. The school evolves time and again programmes to groom the global citizens of tomorrow, giving them the best in the field of education through the diligence of a dedicated team of teachers who work tirelessly to achieve this goal. At various stages the school provides Special Supplementary Classes in comprehensive packages, conducted by the best faculty available in the country, supplementing the school curriculum, which includes study materials for CBSE Board and different competitive exams, Test Series for competitive exam etc. for the academic prospects of the students.

Parents are earnestly advised and urged that in the best interest of their ward, all Academic Plans should be initiated only after prior

with the school, failing which the school will find itself helpless to do

the best in the interest of their ward.

CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

The school organizes Cultural Exchange Programme to help inculcate

“Vasudaiva Kutumbakam” the feeling of Oneness and Brotherhood

and sustain peace and harmony. This exchange programme enables

children of two families to get an exposure to the inherent cultural

differences existing, thereby helping them to experience, modify their

outlook, accommodate and adjust to this new situation successfully

in a monitored environment. This would be of immense help to

them when they face real life situations later on in their career. In

this programme a child/children from two different families stay for a

period of 2-3 days with the family of each other of preferably different

cultural and linguistic background. The modalities are chalked out

with the full consent and co-operation of parents of both the families.

GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS

Global Partnerships add an international dimension to the school

curriculum, by forging work links with schools abroad, especially

in Afghanistan, Nepal, UK, Spain, Germany & Brazil. The school

designs, develops and implements activities with a view to develop

global citizenship skills and enhance the quality of international

education in our increasingly global world and espouses a number of

values - peace, freedom, quality and tolerance. Such internationalism

as promoted in the school broadens the horizons of the school

communities, supports experiential and project based learning thus

enhancing intercultural understanding.

ADOLESCENT EDUCATION PROGRAMME (AEP)

Adolescent Education Programme has been launched to handle

problems related to adolescents with a view to help them cope with

the challenges and stress of everyday life.
