• 61 % are willing to donate money to help local conservation causes (Cairngorms National Park 2004)

• 80% of UK holiday makers say it is important that their holiday does not damage their destination’s environment (Mori 2000)

• Visitors do show a considerable willingness to pay for conservation on places they visit, especially where their holidays involve appreciating the environment… (Denman & Ashcroft 1997)
