DEERFOS‘s New Technology Compact Grain Products

Compact grain products containing the agglomerates provide higher stock removal [long-life time] than conventionalabrasive products bearing a single layer of abrasive grains,since the special character of the agglomerates allows thesloughing off of spent individual abrasive grains during abradingoperations and exposing of new abrasive grains to the work piece.

Compact Grain Construction

Fig-1 is a schematic side view in elevation of anagglomerates particle made. The particle containsabrasive grains as the solid particulates and has a substantially circular cross-section.Fig-1 illustrates a preferred, non-limiting example of a filamentary shaped compact grain made by the method of the technique. The compact graincomprises a binding chain and abrasive grain.Outside of compact grain permit formation of a strong bond to the maker and size coat used inconventional abrasive manufacturing technique.

Fig-2 is showing the abrasive grain and compactgrain of the actual object.

The grinding results shown in Fig-3 show that the beltsmade with the compact grain product removes more stainless steel than a conventional abrasive belt atgrinding forces.[5kgf]Compact Grain products have initially slightly lowerthan conventional products, but 6 times more as longas for convention abrasives.
