Lighting

Lighting The Loom Light

A feature light inspired by the lattice structure of a loom. Handweaving small sections of wine weave on the panels, the innovative structure will create a striking shadow relief and intriguing interplay between the light and the finely woven cloth. Frame is brass with hand woven Linen.

The Buoy LightClaire Norcross in collaboration with Akiko hirai

material : Glazed Stoneware, natural fibre rope capped with brass

Dimensions : (D) 300mm x (h) 380mm drop of light made to specification.

Akiko hand turned two clay in components then painstakingly brought together to get the full ‘buoy’ shape. The two pieces had to be completed wetted and allowed to join together to create a single form. The surface design is based on her signature faceted work, deeply textured with a cracked white glaze covering its surface

Still Life Table Lamps

Turned and then carved to create a heavy geometric base. These collection of lights though originally based on a bottle design have an industrial feel to them. The darker bases are made from black clay and fired once, whilst the pure white lamps are made from lighter clay, fired and then glazed with a white slip.

Catarina Riccabona with Peter greig LtdWelsh Tapestry

Commissioned by The new Craftsmen, Catarina collaborated with Scottish linen mill peter Greig Ltd to create a light weight upholstrey fabric to drape the walls in the House & Garden’s Vip lounge at Decorex 2015. inspired by traditional welsh block tapestry, Catarina has designed a more subtle pattern in her own style, referencing the hand-woven techniques she uses day to day in her studio.
