Bold title “KERRANG” at the top. This is common to all magazines of this genre. I think this is good as it lets you know instantly what magazine it is.

Large image of the band, All time low, is attractive to any fans of the band. Good selling point as it entices fans to buy the magazine.

Advertising free posters is a sales point as many fans of the genre will be attracted to free posters.

Unlike many other magazines of this genre the cover page features a medium amount of clear space. In my opinion this is good as everything doesn’t look as clustered however from a sales point of view it may be bad as there isn’t as much to draw people in.

Most magazines of this genre, KERRANG specifically, tend to feature harsh, bold colours to draw attention to the magazine. This magazine goes against this convention as it is clearly in a very saturated black and white.

Despite going against other conventions this magazine does have a very large picture of the artist and the bands name to attract fans.

Following another convention, the magazine offers freebies, typically posters, to entice fans to buy.

Quotes like “BITE BACK!” and “The a-z of emo” are used to make people want to read more, and therefore buy the magazine. This is a typical convention used by this genre of magazine on almost every issue.

This magazine follows the convention of bright, harsh colours. This makes the magazine very noticeable on shop shelves and therefore means more people are likely to notice and then buy it.

The phrase “ The triumphant return of Paramore, their incredible story.” is a good selling point as it would make most Paramore fans want to buy the magazine so they get to read this “incredible story”.

Lots of band names on the front cover means there's a good chance that everyone who sees the cover will like at least one of the artists. This is good as it gives a wider audience of people that might buy the magazine.

The cover is dominated by a picture of a specific artist from the genre. This is typical of all magazines of this genre and is good as it draws in fans of the artist.
