The November 28, 2017 meeting was called to order by 1st Vice President,

Deb Waldron. There were 27 members and 1 guest in attendance.

Dolores Forbare presented the Treasurer’s Report. The current balance is

$12,007.32.

The drawing was held for the donation quilt. Jean Langdon is the winner.

About 1,100 tickets were sold.

The monthly mini-quilt information was not presented at the meeting.

The information will be posted on-line.

Joyce Mullis reminded members that Secret Pals will be revealed at the

December meeting.

Colleen Thrailkill is looking for a volunteer(s) to take over as Charity

Quilts Chairperson. Colleen has fabric, labels and a contacts list for the chari-

ty quilt work. She has 12 table runners for Habitat for Humanity and about 10

baby quilts that will be donated to Lake Norman Regional Hospital.

Cheryl Campbell reported that a patriotic quilt will be presented to a vet-

eran in Troutman.

Barbara Barrier reminded members of the Scholarship Fund.

Laurie Jasany reported the Library has 5 new books. Members can take

out 2 books per month.

For new business, Julie Murphy proposed the Guild purchase storage bags

for the quilt show poles. The boxes currently used have been disintegrating and

cannot be repaired. The company selling the storage bags currently has a 30%

sale. The total price is $836.50 to purchase nine, 8-foot bags and five, 10-foot

bags. Julie Murphy made a motion to purchase the bags, and Cheryl Campbell

seconded the motion. The motion passed with a unanimous vote.

CHARITY QUILT NEWS

During 2017 our guild made and donated the following items - 16 quilts

for children which went to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and 12 ta-

ble runners for Habitat.

In addition, several of our members got together to make items for the

Gift Shop at our Quilt Show this past summer. Thank you to all of the Lake

Norman Quilters who participate in our charity activities.

We have some beautiful fabrics donated by Laurie and Diana Jasany

which should inspire all of us to make cute charity quilts next year. I'll bring

it to the December meeting.

In 2018 Marian Voorhees will be taking over responsibility for running

this committee and Lauren Rallis has also offered to work with her.
