FROM THE ELDER’S
Our annual Corporation Meeting will be Sunday,
January 20, 2019, immediately following our
morning service. Please plan to stay for this brief
meeting.
We are getting closer in completing our preacher
search. Continue to pray for God’s help in this
process.
We have men within the church family, and
preachers we have invited in the past
that have volunteered to help preach
during this preacher search process.
We appreciate these men for their
willingness to assist us.
The year-end evening service will be at the Lake
Jackson church of Christ 402 Center Way on
Sunday, December 30, at 6:00 p.m.
Thank you to the many, many members of our
congregation who volunteer their
time for the work of the church. The
church needs every member in
order to function properly. Without
each of you doing your part the
Angleton church would not be where we are
today. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!
"...The prayer of a righteous person
has great power as it is working.” James 5:16 The new year is coming quickly and with that means resolutions and changes. Most resolutions made in the new year will be given up or quit before the middle of the year. The biggest reason for this is that there wasn’t preparation for the change. It’s easy to say, “I’m going to work out more” or “I’m going to eat better” but it is difficult to stick with it. If change is introduced gradually, it is more likely to stick. So, if you’re considering that resolution of getting in shape don’t wait till January to start. Start working out once to three times a week leading up to the new year. There is a spiritual aspect to this as well. Maybe your resolution won’t be to work out physically, but spiritually. “I am going to read my Bible every day!” is a resolution I have heard many times. Just like any change, it has to become a part of your routine. A lot of resolutions also fail because the goal is too lofty or is unachievable. So, if you are planning to make that daily Bible reading a resolution, start now. Start with reading on the weekdays and then add the weekends. Start making it a habit now instead of later.
I hope that everyone had a chance to listen to our guest speaker Sunday. If you missed him, the live stream of both Sunday services, morning and evening, are on our Facebook page.
I also want to say thank you to Pam Hillman, the Fagan family, and Bill and Pat Walker for hosting our progressive dinner and making it a great success!
We have some events coming up that need our students and church family’s involvement such as devotionals. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Trek dates have been set for June 23rd
– 29th
! Remember, our payment deadlines are January 31
st and April 30
th.
