Freedom Fund Banquet Recap

The Annual Des Moines NAACP Adult Branch Freedom Fund Banquet start-ed off strong forty-four years ago and still has a magnificent impact on the Greater Des Moines community. This year’s annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet had a driven focus which was “when we fight, we win” as their theme and the illustrious Angela Rye as the keynote speaker to convey their theme. The NAACP took their theme “when we fight, we win” into their own execution to bring awareness to the Greater Des Moines Community to let them know that the Des Moines NAACP is alive and doing remarkable things with and for our communities!

This year’s theme allowed many to take a step back and take a deeper look at the bigger picture. When we fight the battles against racial injustice, we win the war of racial justice. When we fight against the battles of derogatory terms thrown at us, we win the war of compliments. When we fight against the battles of hate, we win the war of love. When we fight against the battles of oppression, we win

the war of victory. When we fight to-gether, we win together. The Des Moines NAACP Branches have displayed these victories throughout the years, both young and old.

The 44th Freedom Fund Banquet evokes people to think about who they are and where they came from, it has conceded many to take a deeper look into them-selves without judgement to better carry on the legacy of those who came before us. Evaluating the purpose of creating an immeasurable legacy such as the NAACP will help embody the leader’s of today, tomorrow, and for ever more.

THE URBAN IMPACT SHOWThe Urban Impact Show attended the NAACP Economic Empowerment Forum with an opportunity to ask 11 Democrat presidential hopefuls about their urban community agenda.

We asked them to introduce themselves to our audiences, why they’re run-ning, how they’ll impact urban communities and how to engage the voter who’s lost hope . Catch the podcast on Urban City Magazine and Urban Impact Show’s Facebook pages.

“Reading is the new cool? Yes!”

I’ve thought long and hard how I can benefit my surroundings in an effective way going forward. Giving you something to read is my objective. Not just something to read to entertain, but read for value.

Our society has a short attention span. I understand why. This book is short. It takes you on a trip through my personal expe-rience of being a father for the last 20 years.

Our kid’s self-esteem and self worth are being attacked. These conversations will help keep them on point so they can navi-gate through the evils of the world.

This is the first of many books targeted towards parenting, self-help, motivation and empowerment. We are making reading

cool again. We? Yes! My publishing company Peak Publishing Hub is able to help any inspiring writer to become published. My marketing company, TeamStrong Inc. can help market your book as well.

Please look forward to future publications, as well as this one at www.8conversationstohave.com

This is an audio book as well. Thank you all for your time and let’s read and empower eachother
