BETHEL LUTHERAN COUNCIL MEETING
November 5, 2017
Meeting was called to order by President Larry Guthman. Members present were Jim P. Janet P., Dan
M., Meridee G., Deb P., Marv B., Pastor Melinda and visitor Marty Allison.
The secretary's report was approved.
The treasurer's report was approved.
Committee Reports:
Music & Worship - good
Stewardship - good
Building & Grounds - about $3800 is still needed for the roof project.
Youth & Education - going well
Fundraising - The date for next year's Bethel Boogie has been moved to the third Saturday in September to
try to avoid other events in the area.
Old Business:
Strategic Planning Committee - Pastor is working to get someone from the synod office to work with the en-
tire congregation.
The proposed budget for 2018 was finished and approved.
Everything is set for the Harvest Dinner. There was some discussion about ways to promote it for better at-
tendance.
New Business:
The annual meeting is scheduled for January 14, 2018, in conjunction with a farewell brunch for Pat Hogan.
Nominees for new council members include Marty Allison. Janet is willing to remain.
There will be representatives coming on Tuesday of this week to give a quote for church insurance.
Next Council Meeting will be December 10th. The meeting was adjourned.

DONATION TO “SANTA’S HELPERS” A big thank you to all that participated, and
helped in any way, on
Sunday, November 12th, at the Pre-thanksgiving dinner held at
Bethel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Approximately 125 people were served
raising $625 through the free-will offering. All monies were given to “Santa’s Helpers” in New Auburn to help families in need over
the holidays.
