Wailea’s new signature culinary showcase has arrived. The Wailea Wine & Food Festival December 6-9 will feature exceptional wines from around the world paired with the award-winning cuisine of Wailea Resort chefs. An array of winemakers’ dinners will be held throughout the weekend at Wailea Resort restaurants, including at The Shops at Wailea.

“Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.” You have no doubt heard or seen this quote before, and it has never been truer than today, as there are more people in need than per-haps any time in recent history.

To do our part, The Shops at Wailea will be hosting a one-day food drive to support the Maui Food Bank on Saturday, December 8. We encourage our store owners, employees, managers, all resort employees, and our Wailea residents and guests to come to The Shops at Wailea and drop off at least two cans of food or non-perishable prepackaged food items. LEILANI COUTSOS of SUNGLASS HUT

was born and raised in South Carolina, but says with a name like “Leilani,” she was destined to live in the Aloha State. She moved to Maui in October of 2011 to begin a new chapter in her life, saying “a hui hou” to her two grown daughters and two grandchildren on the mainland.

She started working at the Sunglass Hut this fall, and says she feels blessed to have the position and work at The Shops at Wailea.
