Merry Christmas! While I realize that for many the days leading up to Christmas can be busy and full, let me encourage you to remain focused on Jesus. As I prepare for the season, I am reminded that God is faithful and good. The birth of Christ changed the world! Through Christ we have can experience true joy and peace. May God bless you as you worship Him and celebrate His birth.

This past year has been a wonderful time in the life of Geyer Springs. God has blessed as we have seen Him at work in our ministry and in the lives of our people. During this past year our ministry has been blessed to see single adults come to know Christ as Lord and Savior and follow Him in baptism. Our ministry has grown as many have joined Geyer Springs and found this to be a wonderful church home. More than just growth, service and ministry have been highlighted this past year. Single adults from Geyer Springs have been involved in missions both internationally and here at home. Our ministry is actively serving our church as well and having an impact in almost every ministry area within the walls of Geyer Springs. As we look ahead, I pray for God’s continued favor and blessing on Geyer Springs and our Singles Ministry.

Contained in this newsletter you will fi nd listed the many opportunities available for worship and fellowship here at Geyer Springs. Be sure to check the calendar throughout the month for the dates and times of events that include your class group. Christmas and New Year’s weekend schedules will be diff erent this year as the holidays fall on the weekends. Geyer Springs will off er one service on Christmas Eve at 4:00 PM, one service on Christmas Day at 11:00 AM and one service on New Year’s Day at 11:00 AM. The Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services will be identical so choose the one that best fi ts your schedule. You are also invited to volunteer to serve during one of the services if you are able to attend both.

Kelli and I would also like to invite you to “Christmas at Club Doug” on December 17th. “Christmas at Club Doug” is simply a Christmas party for all single adults at Geyer Springs held at our house. Over the past few years our Singles Ministry has grown to 8 groups. We are now in three departments meeting in all three Sunday school hours. This party is an opportunity for our entire ministry to gather as we celebrate the Christmas Season. The party is a drop by event and will run from 6:00-10:00 PM. There will be plenty of food and children are always welcome. I would love to see you there!

Thank you for allowing me the privilege and blessing of being your Singles Minister over these past six years. I am excited about the 2012 year and all that God will do in the days ahead.

Winter Bible Study will begin Sunday, January 8th at 4:45 PM; Tuesday, January 10th at 9:30 AM; or Wednesday, January 11th at 6 PM. Mark your

calendars for Priscilla Shirer’s 6 week study called “Seed.” Plant a little seed…grow a big faith. Priscilla

will dive deep into the Scriptures and relay 6 distinct spiritual principles. You’ll walk away from this study

with a revitalized relationship with the Lord and renewed interest for hearing His Word.

MEN’S CONFERENCETHE MAN CODE

Geyer Springs First Baptist Church and Defender Ministries invite you to REVISING THE MAN

CODE Men’s Conference. This conference will examine those ancient codes in a modern light.

How can those timeless principles address the challenges of technology, pornography,

communication, ethics, and leaving a legacy? Each session blends humor, videos, personal testimonies, exciting teaching, and helpful

solutions to reach men of all personalities and help them to become better leaders, fathers,

husbands, and men.

For 2011, Geyer Springs FBC is investing our heart and resources into 4 separate missions.

As you are planning your class Christmas projects this year, we ask that you consider these areas:

Stuff the Sleigh:Stuff the Sleigh, is a non-profi t organization that collects Christmas presents for foster children, ages 0-21 in Arkansas.

NICU Christmas Packages:Helping the families of babies spending their fi rst Christmas in the NICU by collecting essential items for newborns and parents.

Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home:Providing toys from the wish lists of children in the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home.

Shepherding His Flock (DHS Fashion Show):By donating outfi ts and services to the fashion show, children in need of adoption will be able to take home a new outfi t as well as meet prospective parents at the

DHS Fashion Show they will be participating in.
