EFE Responsibilities

Align courses appropriately in order to have accurate transcript data and course assignments for funding. Continue to monitor the school district enrollments to ensure all

students attending Area Career Centers or Regional Programs are enrolled reflecting the correct serving school. Complete your 2012 School Year Assignments.

- Data was rolled over from previous year. - Remove existing assignments or add new assignments for the 2012 school year. EFE Assignments can be created at anytime during the school year. EFE Assignments can only be removed if there are no students assigned to the

course.

Questions What is the status of funding?

- A new approach to funding is being considered by ISBE. The concept is that all school districts, area career centers and EFEs will receive

90% of their previous year’s allocation. 10% will be based on their student’s course assignments from the previous year.

- Benefits Predictability from year to year for budgeting purposes. More time spent on value added tasks such as: curriculum, leadership, students

etc. Funding will be easier to understand by all parties.

- Assumptions Allocations remaining the same from the previous year.

Questions What happened to the local course ID and name on some of the reports?

- The local course information was removed from all the reports because the school districts were not consistently entering the local data. Every time data was entered inconsistently, the report would separate them into different sections. In order to fix the problem, the locally entered data needed to be taken off the reports. ISBE is trying to encourage the use of state course codes and names.

How should non-public school students be enrolled to attend serving

sites? - They should be enrolled by the public school district in which they reside in SIS. The

record should reflect the serving site RCDTS. The Full Time Equivalency (FTE) will be 1.0.

Questions Can EFEs have a refresher training on assigning and unassigning

courses? - Yes, a webinar or a hands on workshop can be conducted for EFEs.

Can EFEs have a refresher training on reports? - Yes, a webinar or hands on workshop can be conducted for EFEs.

Are Serving Sites responsible for entering only Teacher Course Assignments? - Yes, Serving Sites (Area Career Centers and Region Centers) are only

responsible for entering Teacher Course Assignments.

Questions What if all my school districts did not enroll all my students at the ACC

or Region Center for 2012 by October 14, 2011? - School districts may still enroll students in SIS to reflect enrollment at the ACC or

Region Center throughout the year Can the .5 FTE problem be fixed on the Demographic Report? This

report is very useful for Area Career Centers. - Yes, this has been fixed.

Can you send out the message again to all EFEs and ACCs regarding

ADA? There are still school districts that are under the impression that sending students to serving sites will reduce their ADA. - Yes, the message will be sent out again on the CTEGROUP.
