Please PrayThanks for the gift of Jesus.
Thanks for the friendships that God has
blessed us with here.
Thanks for the generous love and
support from Australia.
Thanks for a good and restful holiday
for Sarah and the girls.
Thanks for more students who want to
study MOCLAM courses with Pete.
Pray for more people to know why
Jesus is worth celebrating.Pray for perseverance and diligence as
Pete and Sarah approach the end of
intensive language learning (the process
will continue for many years, but with
less hours of formal tutoring).
Pray for greater competency in
communicating in Spanish.
Pray for Pete as he prepares to teach
Introduction to the Bible to the Mens
group and a smaller group in Spanish.

Bible VerseFor even the Son of Man did not come to
be served, but to serve, and to give his
life as a ransom for many.

What its all about!
The class piata - its a boot ... soon to be
smashed as part of the Christmas party
MOCLAM update With increasing Spanish, Pete has been
able to take up some MOCLAM teaching
opportunities. In February hell begin
teaching Creacin de la nueva creacin
to the Mens Bible study group at our
church, as well as meeting with two
individuals to work through the material.
Between Christmas and New Year Pete
manned a MOCLAM stall at Urbana09,
the InterVaristy (IFES-USA) missions
conference in St Louis, USA. With
20,000 participants (mainly students) it
was a good time for meeting people
interested in theological education in the
Spanish speaking world.
This isnt really MOCLAM work, but the
kids club Pete runs while Sarah does
Bible study has been a hoot! (and the
kids love it too)
The delight of opening parcels from
Australia - thank you for your generosity.
Sarahs first ever Christmas pudding. The
smoked turkey was not what we expected,
but our traditional dinner was thoroughly
enjoyed.

1. Glad we didnt have to travel like this to go on holidays. 2. Fresh chicken, market style. The market was the standard shopping in
a small indigenous village. We stood out - literally. 3. Traditional Hausteca cloth - made by the lady with wool woven into herhair. 4. Hausteca ruin at Tamohi - the northernmost archeological site. 5. Sunset at Puente de Dios - from Tamohi the winter
soltice sun sets in the dip in the mountains and casts a shadow in a special circle on the ground. 6. Karina about to jump into a huge
pool in a cave. 7, 8, and 9. A 1.5 hour canoeing trip up river to Cascada de Tamul. 10. Tampico - a beach on the Gulf of Mexico
with kilometres of carts trying to sell everything! 11. Waves - not quite a NSW beach! 12. Piata fun gave our Christmas
day a Mexican twist. 13. St Louis Missouri for Urbana09. 14. MOCLAM stand at Urbana09. 15. Working at home in our
bosque - branches cut from our tree make a great forest for imaginative play.
Holiday snaps from the Hausteca region, 6.5 hours south.
