Sunbeams Dance has been created carefully for young ones (3 years) who may be leaving mom and dad for their own activity for the very first time. Our excellent and experienced early years instructors entice them into wanting to participate. We use repetition, play, imagination, creativ-ity and storytelling to teach rhythm, pace, dynamics of dance, different forms of mobility and performance.

Shooting Stars Dance (4 years) takes what sunbeams has taught but be-gins to build on that creative movement by leading in the to earliest bal-let, tap and jazz skills. Shooting stars is a great jumping off point for a long future in dance or performance of any kind. We begin to focus more on discipline (standing in a specific spot, moving together as a group, team dynamic) and focus. They also get to perform on stage at the end of the year!

Our Winter Start programs are a perfect way to get your child into dance now without waiting for next September. It is also a great way to test the waters with a shorter term. Call now to register before they fill up!

Duets Dancewear Inc. is introducing the first of its prod-uct lines throughout North America and right here at Pure! Whether you are getting organized for fast changes at competitions, packing up the car for a trip or prepar-ing for the backstage chaos of recitals, knowing where all your costume pieces are, not losing the one-of-a-kind pieces, showing up on time with costumes intact, and having it all take place in style, has been an elusive goal… until now. Duets – introduces a beautifully organized so-lution.

Colette Annetts and Tina Hodgson are two seasoned dance moms with active families and 3 competitive danc-ers at Pure. After years of trying to keep their competi-tive dancers, Gracie, Riley and Dakota organized when traveling to competitions, typically with over 20 dances to prepare for, it became all too clear staying organized is one of the keys to a successful - and stress free - dance weekend. After looking for products they were unable to find, they decided to design their own dancewear solu-tions.

The costume bag is the first product line specifically de-signed with a dancer and her mom’s needs in mind. How-ever, skaters and theatrical performers are excited about using it as well!

What’s so wonderful about the costume bag? You stay beautifully organized for each and every costume!

• The Double Polished Deluxe vinyl is beautifully clear, durable and thick enough to resist damage, flexible enough to fold and roll. This vinyl can even be written on with silver permanent marker (name and/or costume pieces) and later removed with nail polish remover! • Our top and bottom handles make it easy to carry and are made with strong woven nylon that won’t fray, break or tear. • High quality easy slide zippers allow you to close and protect all items no matter how small.• Most of all, dancers love the fun designs!

The Duets costume bag is a perfect Christmas gift for the dancer in your life! They are available now at the Pure boutique and on-line at www.duetsdancewear.com . Duets – the difference is in the details!

Please Note: Since December is so busy, we will only have one points event happening. Stay tuned for more events and fun ways to participate, coming January and February!

“I love Pure because it is fun and the teachers are nice there. The dances are fun. I like to go to competitions because I can see all my team mates having fun. I love at competitions when people cheer for us and we can cheer for everyone else. We also wear are jackets and they make me feel like a rock star. I have a whole bunch of friends at Pure. pure dancerThis month’s Pure Dancer is Ad-dison Bechard. Addison is a quiet and helpful student. Her atten-dance is wonderful, her patience and work ethic is hard to beat and her gentle hard working presence in class is just lovely. Addison al-ready shows a very natural ability in ballet class at this primary level. It is a pleasure teaching you Addi-son. We can’t wait to watch you grow as a dancer.

pure singerPure Singer: Savannah Laidler, is an enthusiastic new member of the

choir. She loves to sing and her en-thusiasm carried over to a school mate that has also now joined the choir. Savannah is learning to apply new techniques to her singing and improves every week. Keep up the good work Savannah!

pure actorThe PURE actor of the month is Bennett Mitchell. Bennett is a new member to the acting program and is quickly becoming an irreplace-able asset. Bennett is wonderfully respectful in class and is support-ive of his classmates. Bennett al-ways participates and pushes him-self creatively. This guy has guts!

Way to go Bennett! We can’t wait to see what you do next!

pure heartPURE HEART this month goes to Lorie Thibault, the mother of Junior Elite Dancer, Ashley. Lorie is an excellent supporter of not only her daughter, but the processes and training the instructors provide for Ashley’s pro-gram. Lorie is interested in learning more about ballet and the dance

world so she can help her daughter learn and grow continuously. As in-structors, it feels amazing to work in this avenue when the support from the parents is so warm and genuine. Thank you, Lorie. !

The PURE Month ly Awards are a way for the PURE Staf f to recogn ize deserving students . Through-out each month instructors nominate students in their respective d iscip l ines who have been demonstrating a l l of the behaviours out l ined in the Code of Conduct found at pureacademy.ca
