A LITTLE BIT OF LAUGHTER Three guys are fishing when an angel
appears.
The first guy says, “I’ve suffered from
back pain for years. Can you help me?”
The angel touches the man’s back, and
he feels instant relief.
The second guy points to his thick
glasses and begs for a cure for his
poor eyesight. When the angel tosses
the lenses into the lake, the man gains
20/20 vision.
As the angel turns to the third fellow,
he instantly recoils and screams,
“Don’t touch me! I’m on disability
pension!”

Have a blessed Christmas!
Today’s readings continue the themes of
hope and expectation, adding the element
of rejoicing — for Israel, for those awaiting
the Messiah and for us. But there is also a
summons to repentance and reformed
conduct. The good news is tempered with a
call to responsibility on our part. Like those
before us, we are urged to hope and
rejoice. In addition, we must ask the
question: “What should we do?”
A voice of one crying out in the desert: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths." - Luke 3:4
First Reading: Zephaniah 3:14-18a Repentant, exiled Israel is called to hope and joy
Second Reading: Philippians 4:4-7 Rejoice; be kind and thankful! Gospel: Luke 3:10-18 John teaches repentance and proclaims Christ’s
coming
