Speech’
This is the MAIN debating competition for the year, and one of the largest debating competitions in the world. Everyone is encouraged to join.
Open to all students in years 9 to 12, regardless of experience.
The best choice for new, intermediate and experienced debaters alike.
If you sign up, you need to commit to the entire season.
Five rounds in terms 1 to 3:1) Wednesday 25 March 2) Wednesday 29 April3) Wednesday 20 May4) Wednesday 17 June5) Wednesday 29 July
Years 9 and 12 debate at 7pm. Years 10 and 11 debate at 8pm. All Brighton Region debates are at Brighton Grammar
School. The top team(s) from the Brighton region will be
invited to participate in the State Finals. Don’t worry about drama/music clashes – it’s sorted!
We will give you whatever help we can!
Training sessions will be held on Tuesday Lunchtimes in MS 3.0.
Training is not compulsory but is highly recommended.
A weekly schedule will be published soon.
Each team will be given a coach who will assist them throughout the season and will give you feedback at debates.
