• The main influences on cancer mortality:– Smoking– New treatments– Screening– Early diagnosis– Nutrition and physical activity

• NHS Bristol spends around £8.6 million per 100,000 people on cancer

• Since 1993 the mortality rate in the under 75s has fallen by about 20%.
