While you’re at the store getting game day snacks, consider picking up some socks for our Super Sock Sunday. Many people in Minnesota don’t have proper clothing for our bleak winters or a warm bed to sleep in at night. The Dorothy Day Center has generously opened their doors for many years to the homeless, and we want to help them this winter by supplying their visitors with socks. Many of these people may only have one or two pairs of socks and undergarments. We ask that you bring in sizes your family would wear, so that we have a good variety. Please donate generously! Thank you. You may drop off your donations at all Masses on Saturday, February 2nd and Sunday, February 3rd. Boxes will be placed in the front and back of the church. • Middle School STEM Day for Girls A conference for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls to explore Science • Technology • Engineering • Math careers in hands on workshops. Accordingly, all parish families will be provided the opportunity to apply for tuition assistance for the 2013-2014 school

year. We encourage families to visit the school’s website to access and complete an online application. If you have any questions regarding this process, please feel free to call Mary Super at (651)696-5441. Security System Completed Nativity School Accessibility Plan for Students, Parents and Guests

January 30, 2013 We are pleased to announce that all facility security measures are up and running at Nativity School. The journey toward completion over the past month has given us time to evaluate some of our operating procedures. We will continue our analysis over the coming months, but today we are prepared to outline the plan for moving forward immediately.

All exterior doors of the school building are locked during the academic day 7:00A.M. to 2:40P.M. The building is unlocked until 8:45P.M. each day to provide access to all extra-curricular activities. All parents or other guests must report to the school office upon entering the building.

If you need to drop off your child after school has begun or pick up

your child before the day ends please do so using the main entrance on Wellesley Ave (the plaza). Those doors now have an intercom and camera visibility to allow safe access into the school. The intercom is connected to the door on the far right as you are facing the school. Please identify yourself when asked and you will be “buzzed in”.

Parents who are volunteering during the school day (hot lunch,

nurse’s office, other projects etc.) should also enter the building through the plaza doors and proceed to the office to check in and receive your guest badge.

All staff on recess duty will carry their key fobs with them to provide

access into the school for children who are hurt or need to use the restroom while on the playground.

Thank you to all for your patience and support with our new safety plan!
