2300 Ellesmere Road, Scarborough, Ontario, M1G 3M7 Dear Parent/Guardian, Happy February! The weather continues to turn colder and its time to remember all the things for cold weather activities! Please remember to dress your children with clothing appropriate for outdoor play. We usually go outside for recess unless temperatures are extreme (about – 15oC with wind-chill). I encourage you to come in and check the lost and found regularly as little items such as hats, scarves, mits and more, often get lost at the end of the day. When inclement weather is forecasted, the Board makes every effort possible to keep schools open. Buses often may be cancelled at the discretion of the Board or the bus company, if safety is a concern both in the morning and afternoon. It is easiest to not put names on the cards/items. This way distribuon can be done quickly for all students. Due to the rise in allergies, we ask you to celebrate with non-food items. Special pencils, erasers, etc. are all fun ways to celebrate Valennes day. Report cards go home on Tuesday 9th of February and the parent/ teacher interviews are on the night of the 11th and the morning of the 12th.

As you may have noticed, there have been two separate incidents of graffi-ti at the school since Christmas. Following the second incident, the police were informed and are continuing to investigate. Can I ask that if you are passing the school and notice something going on that you immediately contact the authorities. If we all remain vigilant then the chances of a reoc-currence are slim. As the 14th of February quickly approaches, please remember a few items:

If you are sending your child with “valentines” for friends, it is best to include all students in the class so that no one feels left out.

It is easiest to not put names on the cards/items. This way distribution can be done quickly for all students.

Due to the rise in allergies, we ask you to celebrate with non-food items. Special pencils, erasers, etc. are all fun ways to celebrate Valentine’s day.
