Dear Mr. Blanford and the Band Boosters, First of all, apologies that this is getting to you so late. To say that the past few weeks have been crazy would be the understatement of the century. But I just wanted to give my sincerest thank you for the Sousa Band Award that I was given at the honors reception. When I first started getting into all the PMEA festivals and things like that, I didn’t really look at it as an opportunity for recognition. I was never thinking about the medals I get to wear on my graduation gown, or the plaques my name would be engraved on. To me, it was just fun. To be able to receive the recognition that I have received, and still have fun while doing it, is a blessing beyond words. I can safely say that I would not be the same person I am today without the Springfield music program. From the music I’ve gotten to play, the people I’ve gotten to meet, and the opportunities I’ve had, the effect you all have had on my life knows no bounds. So this is a sincere thank you, not just for the award, but for the past 4 years. For everything that you’ve made possible not just for me, but for all band students who wanted to succeed. The Springfield High School music program is certainly an amazing program, mostly because it is staffed by such amazing people. Thank you all for an amazing four years. Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Blanford and the Band Boosters,

First of all, apologies that this is getting to you so late. To say that the past few weeks have been crazy would be the understatement of the century. But I just wanted to give my sincerest thank you for the Sousa Band Award that I was given at the honors reception.

When I first started getting into all the PMEA festivals and things like that, I didnt really look at it as an opportunity for recognition. From the music Ive gotten to play, the people Ive gotten to meet, and the opportunities Ive had, the effect you all have had on my life knows no bounds.

So this is a sincere thank you, not just for the award, but for the past 4 years. For everything that youve made possible not just for me, but for all band students who wanted to succeed. The Springfield High School music program is certainly an amazing program, mostly because it is staffed by such amazing people. Thank you all for an amazing four years.

Sincerely,

Kevin Turnbull
