Thank you for considering applying for the post of Head Teacher at our School. Salusbury Primary School is a much loved school which sits at the heart of its community. As a three form entry school it is large but it feels

small and friendly to its children, staff and parents.

We are

proud of our ethos, which can best be described as inclusive and focused, through a broad educational experience, on supporting our children to become thinking and reflective people, successful in whatever they choose to do. We are proud that we have chickens in our large green space at the back of the school and that every year group has a plot in which they grow things - all in the centre of London - and we are proud of what our children achieve in so many arenas: music, PE (for which we have a gold award), drama, academically and more.

We are fortunate too

to




have a very supportive parent body. There is an active Friends of Salusbury School (FoSS), who undertake regular find raising activities. Unlike many schools we do not experience any difficulty in finding volunteers for our Governing Board, so we also have an active and engaged group of Governors. We have Salusbury World, a fantastic charity that supports refugee and other disadvantaged families in a range of ways, Place2Be and links to a range of other pastoral care organizations that complement the school’s efforts to ensure all children can reach their potential.




The school has undergone many positive developments over the last few years ranging from significant improvements to the physical space through to increasing the standard and consistency of teaching across the school. This culminated in the school receiving a Good judgement from Ofsted in March 2016. The school has continued to build on its’ now firm foundations.




Debby Rigby, our Headteacher, is leaving at the end of December due to a change in family circumstances, but is committed in ensuring a seamless and effective handover to the newly appointed Headteacher, who will join us on our journey toward even greater excellence.
