TRANSCRIPT
Dear Gala Attendees,
On behalf of the Raise Your Glass Foundation, we would like to
welcome you to our inaugural Winter Gala benefiting Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia!
We are grateful for your attendance tonight, and look forward to it being a memorable evening. As you enjoy
tonight’s entertainment, dine on delectable food and drink and take a chance at winning incredible items,
we hope you’ll come away with a better understanding of why we created the Raise Your Glass Foundation
and why we decided to raise awareness and funding for Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia.
Tonight, you are part of something special, in fact… something spectacular! Your attendance in support of our
organization will help children continue to receive state-of-the-art healthcare from the professionals at Shriners
Hospital in Philadelphia regardless of a family’s ability to pay! We hope you’ll join us as you “Raise Your Glass”
to the hospital, doctors, nurses and therapists that worked a miracle for our son, Anthony John. Shriners’ patient
centered, team approach to treatment yielded extraordinary results, and it is because of this that our team at
the Raise Your Glass Foundation chose Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia as our Winter Gala benefactor!
Your generosity in supporting our foundation’s efforts will allow other children born with
orthopedic/spinal conditions the opportunity at leading an independent life.
It was nearly one year ago when the Raise Your Glass Foundation was established, and our dream of giving back
to those who made the impossible, possible in our son’s life began. We have much to celebrate, both as parents
and as chairmen of this tremendous organization filled with volunteers that have gone above and beyond to make
tonight a reality. It is our hope that you enjoy this evening, and most importantly, raise your glass to those that
help children lead healthier, stronger lives!
Cheers!
A MESSAGE FROM THE CO-CHAIRS
Adam Yenish Danielle Gagliano-YenishChairman Co-chair
GUEST of HONOR
Harold van Bosse, MD, has headed up the Arthrogryposis Center at Shriners Hospitals for Children since
arriving in Philadelphia in 2008. The goal of the Center is to allow a child with arthrogryposis to reach their
fullest potential, both by addressing their limb deformities, as well as helping to restructure their world where
ever possible. Each problem is addressed in a multi-disciplinary process, ensuring proper consideration of how
the problem, as well as the treatment, affects the child. Treatment modalities include physical and occupational
therapy programs, casting, bracing, and surgical intervention. The center has been privileged to treat patients
from across the United States, as well as South America and Europe.
Originally a mid-Westerner, Dr. van Bosse completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois,
where he received a B.S. in biology and a B.A. in psychology. He then completed his doctorate of medicine
at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. His “orthopaedic pedigree” includes his residency in
orthopaedics at the University of Illinois-Chicago, College of Medicine, and his fellowship at The Hospital for
Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario.
Prior to joining the staff at Shriners Hospitals for Children, he was an attending pediatric orthopaedic surgeon
at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases and New York University Medical Center, in New York, for
a decade. It was there that he developed a passion for treating children with arthrogryposis. He is a member
of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pediatric
Orthopaedic Society of North America, and the Ponseti International Association. He proudly is a member of
the Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita Support, Inc., Board of Directors. Whenever possible, Dr. van Bosse
participates in medical missions to underserved countries. He could not have gotten this far without with
support of his wife, Ana.
Shriners Hospitals for Children® staff of nationally and internationally known professionals specializes in pediatric
spinal cord injuries, spine problems, and upper and lower extremity conditions. In addition to treating children with
routine and complex orthopaedic problems, our specialized services include a comprehensive inpatient and intensive
day rehabilitation program for children and adolescents.
Each year thousands of children receive life-changing specialty orthopaedic care at Shriners Hospitals for
Children. Patients come from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and throughout
North America.
Care is based solely on medical need. Children up to age 18 are eligible for care if there is a reasonable possibility they
could benefit from the specialized services available. All care is provided regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.
Shriners Hospitals for Children has special expertise in the following areas:
• Arthrogryposis
• Brachial Plexus and Birth palsy injuries
• Cerebral Palsy
• Hand problems
• Upper/Lower Extremities problems
• Limb deficiencies/discrepa ncies
• Pediatric spine including: scoliosis, kyphosis, and spinal problems
• Spinal cord injury
For a complete list of conditions visit the website or call for more information.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is committed to conducting high quality, innovative research in the areas of
orthopaedic/musculoskeletal and neurological injury and disease in order to improve the care and quality of life of
children coping with these conditions and challenges. In addition to research that is conducted, Shriners Hospitals for
Children is proud of its role in medical education. By maintaining relationships with more than 60 medical teaching
facilities, Shriners Hospitals for Children fosters an academic environment committed to providing high-quality

Dr. vanBosse and the Staff of
Shriners Hospital Philadelphia,
Tonight we celebrate all that you do; all the little
things that people take for granted in life…the
ability to receive health care, to walk, to run, to live
independently! For us, you’ve given our son this
opportunity. We are forever indebted to you for the
miracle you’ve accomplished! We toast you all and
THANK YOU for making the impossible, possible in the
lives of children!
~Adam and Danielle Yenish
AJ’s Therapists,
Kari, Lisa, and Melissa…we are so blessed that you
chose to work with AJ for three years. Tonight, we
celebrate your accomplishments in helping improve
the lives of children. Each day, you walk into homes
and try to help children lead independent lives. You
have become our family and we raise our glass to you…
tonight, and always!
