Significance of Mata Ki Chowki
Mata Ki Chowki is one of the important festivals in Northern India. Every day of the year, a mass of humanity surges up steep pathways that cut across the hillside formile after mile to view Holy Pindis, hid-den in the cave at
Trikuta mountain. During Mata Ki Chowki devotees sing bhajans in favor of Durga Matha who is represented in many forms like Vaishno Maa, Santoshi Maa, Durga Maa, Kaali Maa, Ambe Maa, Saraswati Maa & Lakshmi Maa.
According to Holy Book Durga Saptashati, that people will be blessed with the accumulation of wealth, respectable children and the obstacles in their lives will be eliminated if they perform Devi Puja. It goes on to say
that without a doubt, these people will be granted all their desires, wishes and their objectives in life will be fulfilled. This will be achieved not by personal contacts but only through the divine grace and blessing of Mata Ji. The duration of a Chowki is usually two to four hours, whereas a Jaagran is all night while sitting in the presence
of the Divine Mother (Mata).

( Dr.Manjul Kany Dwivedi )
The Ancient Secrets of Harmonizing Your Living Space)
There is a need to create awareness amongst the people so that they may know about “VASTU SHASTRA” and
enjoy their lives with peace and harmony benefiting from the wisdom and spiritual experience of our ancient sages
and seers. In fact the limited piece of land then attempts to connect itself with the all pervading unlimited power of
the Universe and establishes a harmonious relationship with that power.
As streams of Cosmic Power reflected in the forms of Sun, Earth, Air, Water & Sky do not discriminate against
individuals and the benefits they give are for all to obtain, similarly, the principles & power of Indian Vastu Shastra are
for the whole mankind and therefore anybody can derive benefits by following principles of Indian Vastu Shastra
without any consideration of caste, creed, religion and community.
The principles of Vastu Shastra are being prevalent since Vedic era. Surprisingly, we people though accept the
sovereignty of Vedic Science Yoga, meditation etc. but probably, at the same time consider Vastu Shastra as a thing of
negligence. Vastu is the ancestor of Feng-Shui. ‘Vastu’ has a wide effect on human health and is a supportive science of
Ayurveda and Yoga. In fact, the three sciences make their treatment using three common basic elements with different
names: Vayavya(Air), Agneya(Fire), and Eshan(Water) in Vastu Shastra; Vaat(Air), Pitta(Fire), and Kuf(Water) in
Ayurveda; ‘Eda Nadi ’(Chandra/Water), ‘Pingla Nadi’ (Surya/Fire) and ‘Sushumna Nadi’ (Cosmic Energy/Air/Space) in
Yoga. Vastu stipulates that a ‘Vastu Purush’ exists in every surrounding. The cosmic energy is the base of ‘Vastu
Shastra’. Being enlightened about Vastu is a powerful defensive tool against family tensions, career problems, mental
depression, wealth loss, diseases, and accidents.
Swami Manjulanand (Dr. Manjul Kant Dwivedi) is a spiritual Guru and a world renowned Vastu expert. The Divine Grace has bestowed
him with the inherent knowledge of “Vastu” and communication power with invisible energies. He was born in a Brahman family of
Hardoi (U.P, INDIA), which falls within the influence area of ‘Namisharanya’, a great center of pilgrimage where 88 thousand sages had
practiced penance for knowledge and liberation. He uses a spiritual approach and senses vibrations of deities present in Vastu-Purusha
and merged in every particle of land and building. According to him, the whole universe is a manifestation of cosmic energies of that
Super Power. If we are able to comprehend and conceive the flow of this energy, there will be no problems left.

Snana Yatra(Snana Purnima)
Millenia ago, king Indradyumna started the ceremony of bathing(snana-ytra)Lord Jagannath with 108
pots of sandal-scented well water. At that time, Lord Jagannath told the King that for fifteen days after
snana-yatra, no one should se the Deities. Snana-Yatra occurs on Jyestha Purnima(June Full Moon), one
of the hottest days of the year. Skanda Purana says that Bhagavan Sri Krishna manifested His Daru
Bramha form as Jagannath Swami on this day. Therefore, Jyestha Purnima(Snana Yatra day) is the
appearance day of Lord Jagannath or Birth day of Lord Jagannath
ust before sunrise, Balabhadra, Sudarsana, Subhadra and finally Jagannath are brought in a hopping
style procession to the bathing platform located on the north-east corner of the temple’s outer
boundary wall(Meghanada Pacheri). The deities stand the whole day within public view under a multi-
colored canopy, Pujaris bathe the Deities(Abhiseka) with 108 golden water pots of refreshing sandal-
scented water. From snana-yatra until the end of rath-yatra, Lord Jagannath is cared for by a group of
pujaris called Daitapatis, who are descendants of the Brahmin Vidyapati and Lalita, the daughter of the
tribal(sabara) chief Visvavasu.
