Dear Cattlemen,

We would like to invite you to Hillsboro on Monday, March 10 to attend our second annual bull sale. The sale will be held at the Union Stock Yards and will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Our breeding philosophy is fairly straightforward. We strive to breed cattle that excel in both their genetic and phenotypic makeup. While we work hard to make sure our cattle read well and are pleasing to the eye, we understand that our customers have priorities as well. Commercial cattlemen need bulls that sire cattle that are problem-free and can achieve competitive prices at feeder calf sales. We believe this set of bulls provides an excellent balance of economically-important traits such as calving ease, growth, maternal, and carcass traits.

We are offering 57 serviceable-aged Angus and Simmental-Angus bulls in this sale. They include spring yearlings, fall 18 month olds, and two-year-olds. They all sell complete with EPD’s, performance data, breeding soundness examinations, and have been tested nega-tive for persistent BVD. The Maplecrest herd also maintains Certified and Accredited status for Tuberculosis and Brucellosis.

The beef industry is currently going through a period of historically high prices for all classes of cattle. Now is the perfect time to upgrade the genetics of your herd bull. Every live calf, extra pounds of weaning and yearling weight, and improved carcass merit are worth sig-nificant dollars to the cow-calf producer.
