Dear Awana Parents: Welcome to a new Cubbies year! We are looking forward to lots of fun and learning with your child. The ABCs of Awana Cubbies are: CUBBIES SCHEDULE 6:15 — Check-in begins in Children’s wing, lower level 6:20pm - 7:40pm — Rotating Activities: Story Time, Crafts, Handbook Time, Game Time and Snacks *(Be sure to note any food allergies your child may have)* 7:45pm — Sign-out in classroom in Children’s wing SAFETY You will be asked to sign your child in and out each club night. You will also be asked to let us know who will be picking him/her up as well as providing a phone number where you will can be reached during club time. MEMBERSHIP Each child will begin with the entrance booklet titled “Apple Acres ”. This is the first step in Awana achievement. We hope you will help your child complete this over the first two weeks that they attend club. Upon the completion of this booklet, your child is an Awana Cubbies member. HANDBOOKS After completion of “Apple Acres Enterance Booklet”, the clubber is eligible to purchase a uniform and handbook. Within the handbook, there are chapters entitled “Bear Hugs”. All children work on the same Bear Hug at the same time. The children learn the verse and complete the Bear Hug at home. Clubbers will recite their verse during club and may receive up to two helps. PARENTS Each week you will need to help your child complete the week’s Bear Hug. Read the story with them and help them to memorize the Bible verse, and then sign your name when it is completed. Please feel free to ask our leaders any questions you may have. UNIFORMS Clubber must be a member in order to wear a uniform. The Sparks uniform is a blue vest. The uniform is important because: • It provides a place to put the awards earned by the clubber. A clubber who earns an award, but does not have a uniform, will have the award held until his/her uniform arrives. • A uniform gives the clubber a feeling of identity with the group. AWANA AND CHURCH ATTENDANCE AWARDS Awards are given for attending Awana and church. Uniforms: $12.00 Handbooks: $10.00 Dues: 25 cents/week
