Denise Bassett Most recently Denise was the Benefits, Compensation and Retirement Manager at UGI Utilities, Inc. in Reading, PA for 11 years. In May 2017, she decided to resign her position and take some time off before looking for a position locally in the Wilmington, DE area.

Denise’s original business focus was in the field of accounting. In New Hampshire, she worked for an electric utility and then a natural gas utility. She began her HR career when, due to the merger of 3 smaller companies, she had the opportunity to assist in the creation of a human resources department at a NH natural gas utility. Upon moving to Delaware, she initially specialized in HRIS for a time before moving into a Human Resources Manager role at a unionized chemical manufacturing facility owned by ICI Americas.

She also worked as a Human Resources Manager at Dade Behring and then at a unionized battery manufacturing plant for Johnson Controls.

Denise is originally from New Hampshire where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from New Hampshire College (now Southern NH University). She moved to Delaware in 1996 and subsequently earned an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from Goldey Beacom College.

She lives in Wilmington with her husband and they are members of the Wilmington Ski Club. She enjoys downhill skiing, traveling, reading and cheering for the New England Patriots.
