     June ushers in the eagerly anticipated start of the summer and, withthat, one of the most popular months of the year to get married. Traditionally, June has been a popular time because it follows highschool and college graduations, which are clear rites of passage intoadulthood. Additionally, it is said that many couples prefer Junebecause the weather is mild enough to enjoy outdoor venues but notso hot that wearing gowns and tuxedos becomes uncomfortable.Whatever the reasons why so many betrothed couples favor June to settheir nuptials, we thought that with weddings on so many minds andsocial calendars, it would be timely to look at data from the ! "ife#tyle #tudy$ about marriage. The %uestion we considered was simple&

    does everyone marry for love'

    Among (# Adults) who are married, *+ describe themselves as-happily married and // report that being involved in a romanticrelationship is important for their happiness. What is clear from ourdata, however, is that not all people marry for love. 0n fact, our surveyresults indicate that among adults 1 whether single or married 1 23confess they would marry somebody they liked, but didn4t love, if theythought it was their only chance to get married. 5ven more surprisingis that +6 admit they would marry somebody for their money.

    With these statistics in mind, we couldn4t help but wonder& who arethese people who would settle for less than love and marry for -likeand who are the people who would trade love for money' 7orebroadly, are these folks more likely than others to want a prenuptialagreement'

    (sing data collected from single adults, we 8nd that 22 say theywould settle for less and marry somebody they liked, but didn4t love, ifthey thought it was their only chance to marry. /6 of those whowould settle are male, /6 are white and 96 are of the millennialgeneration.
