    Urdu shall be compulsory for all the teaching posts. The candidates must have studied Urdu as asubject at SSC/+2 or graduation level. However, in case of non- availability of Urdu knowing SC/STcandidates, as per University mandate the candidates selected against the posts reserved for SC/ST have toclear any certificate course in Urdu from any recognized Institution within the prescribed period. Thosecandidates who have come through 10+2+3 stream with Masters degree will be given preference.

    In case NET qualified candidates are not available, University may also invite candidates withoutNET qualification based on their experience and publications, etc., for appointment as Asst. Professors,subject to clearance by the UGC.

    Note: The candidates who have already applied for the posts at Sl.Nos.5, 7, 8; 18, 25, 26, 29; 41, 44, 47,

    48, 49, 50 and 57 in response to the Employment Notification No. 23/2008 dated 3rd

    August 2008 &Addendum to Employment Notification No. 23/2008 dated 28 th August 2008, shall have to apply afresh duly indicating details of post applied or may enclose copy of acknowledgement receipt. However, theyare exempted from payment of registration fee.

    Important Note:

    1) Selected Candidates may be posted at Headquarters or any of the Institutions/Offices of theUniversity in the country.

    2) Qualifications, experience, etc., will be applicable as notified in this notification only. This willsupersede the qualifications, experience, etc., as notified in the previous notifications.

    DETAILS OF ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE, ETC.

    PROFESSOR : Urdu, English, Arabic, Persian, Women Education and MassCommunication & Journalism

    A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevantdiscipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research withevidence of published work with minimum of 10 publications as books and/orresearch/policy papers.

    (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/orexperience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries,including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

    (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and course, andtechnology mediated teaching process.

    (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) basedon Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS)

    ORB. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who

    has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/ allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

    For the post of Professor in Women Education : Masters degree in Arts/Humanities/SocialSciences is essential. Preference will be given to the candidates with P.G. in womeneducation/studies or having specialization in the area in women studies at P.G. level

    PROFESSOR : Education

    (i) A Master's Degree in Arts/Humanities/Science/commerce and M.Ed. each with a

    minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading isfollowed);OR

    M.A. (Education with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherevergrading is followed) and B.Ed. each with a minimum or 55% marks (or an equivalentgrade in a point scale wherever grading is followed);

    (ii) Ph.D. in Education ; and

    (iii) At least ten years of teaching experience in University department of education orCollege of Education of which a minimum of five years at the M.Ed. level withpublished work in the area of his specialization.

    PROFESSOR: Distance Education

    A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in Arts/Commerce/Sciences/SocialSciences with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research withevidence of published work with minimum of 10 publications as books and/orresearch/policy papers.

    (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/orexperience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries,including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

    (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and course, andtechnology mediated teaching process.

    (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) basedon Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS)

    ORB. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who

    has made significant contributions to the knowledge in theconcerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

    Preferable: Preference will be given to the candidates who possess P.G. diploma in

    distance education or having experience in distance mode education.

    PROFESSOR: Business Management

    (i) Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent gradein a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master's Degree in BusinessManagement/Administration/in a relevant discipline or consistently good academicrecord with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherevergrading system is followed) in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent byAIU/recognized by the AICTE/UGC;

    ORFirst Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Account / Cost and workAccount / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

    (ii) Ph.D. or Fellow of Indian Institute of Management or of an Institute recognized byAICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.

    (iii) A minimum of ten years experience of teaching/industry/research/professional outof which five years must be at the level of Reader or equivalent excluding the period

    spent for obtaining the research degree. OR(iv) In the event the candidates is from industry and the profession, the following shall

    constitute as essential:

    1. Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent gradein a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master's Degree in BusinessManagement/Administration/ in a relevant discipline or consistently good academicrecord with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherevergrading system is followed) in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent byAIU/recognized by the AICTE/UGC.

    OR

    First Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Account / Cost and workAccount / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

    2. The candidate should have professional work experience which is significant and canbe recognized at National / International level as equivalent Ph.D and twelve yearsmanagement experience in industry/profession of which at least eight years shouldbe at least at a level comparable to that of Reader/Assistant Professor.

    (v) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considereddesirable:

    a) Teaching, research, and/or professional experience in a reputed organization;

    b) Published work, such as research papers, patents filed/obtained, books and/ortechnical reports;

    c) Experience of guiding the project work/dissertation of PG/Research Students orsupervising R &D projects in industry;

    d) Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrialand/or professional activities; and

    e) Capacity to undertake / lead sponsored R&D consultancy and related activities.

    PROFESSOR-CUM-DIRECTOR: Centre for Urdu Language, Literature & Culture

    A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevantdiscipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research withevidence of published work with minimum of 10 publications as books and/orresearch/policy papers.

    (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/orexperience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries,including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

    has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the

    concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

    Preference will be given to those candidates who possesses Diploma/Certificate course inMuseology/Ancient History/Art & Culture. Evidence of published work should be in Urdu inthe fields of Urdu Language and Literature/ Urdu Linguistics/History/Culture /Museology.

    PROFESSOR-CUM-DIRECTOR: Residential Coaching Academy(Tenure Based up to 30.09.2012)

    DIRECTOR: Physical Education

    (i) Ph.D. in Physical Education.

    (ii) Experience of at least ten years as University Deputy Director of Physical Educationor fifteen years as University Assistant DPEs / College (Selection grade).

    (iii) Participation in at least two national/international seminars/conferences.

    (iv) Consistently good appraisal reports.

    (v) Evidence of organizing competitions and conducting coaching camps of at least twoweek's duration.

    A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevantdiscipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with

    evidence of published work with minimum of 10 years publications as books and/orresearch/policy papers.

    (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/orexperience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries,including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

    (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and course, andtechnology mediated teaching process.

    (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) basedon Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).

    ORB. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who

    has made significant contributions to the knowledge in theconcerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

    Preferable: Experience of atleast 5 years in Academic administration. Preferably inUniversity/Research Institutions/Reputed Academic teaching centres.

    (vi) Evidence of having produced good performance teams/athletes for competitions like

    state/national/inter-university/combined university, etc.

    NOTE: (a) Subject to the provisions of the UGC Regulations-2010, all candidates who arerequired to undertake the physical fitness test shall be required to produce a medicalcertificate certifying that he/she is medically fit before undertaking such tests.

    (b) On production of such certificate mentioned (a) above, the candidates would be

    required to undertake the physical fitness test in accordance with the following norms:

    (i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevantdisciplines.

    (ii) A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scalewherever grading systems is followed) in relevant subject.

    (iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in anacademic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University,College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D.research with evidence of published work and minimum of 5 publications as booksand/or research/policy papers.

    (iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, andtechnology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guideddoctoral candidates and research students.

    (v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) basedPerformance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).

    Specializations:

    For the post of Associate Professor in English: Comparative Literature, Literary Theory.

    For the post of Associate Professor in Social Work: (1) Industrial Social Work / HumanResource Management / Labour Welfare / Corporate Social Responsibilities (2) CommunityWork / Community Organization / Community Development.

    Desirable:

    For the post of Associate Professor in Mass Communication & Journalism: A MastersDegree in Computer Graphics/Visual Communication or P.G. Diploma in ComputerGraphics and Animation or equivalent qualification from a University/recognized ResearchInstitute.

    For the post of Associate Professor in Urdu and Geography (Distance Education):Preference will be given to the candidates who possess P.G. diploma in distance educationor having experience in distance mode education.

    ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: Translation (Tenure based, up to 31.03.2012)

    (i) A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks in Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences andSciences (or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading systems is followed)with Ph.D. Degree in the concerned disciplines.

    (ii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in anacademic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University,College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D.research with evidence of published work and minimum of 5 publications as booksand/or research/policy papers.

    (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, andtechnology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guideddoctoral candidates and research students.

    (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) basedPerformance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).

    (v) Experience in Translation from English to Urdu and vice versa is essential.

    Preference will be given to the candidates who possess P.G. degree in Translation studies orequivalent qualification in translation techniques and having evidence of multilingualtranslation.

    ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR : Education

    (i) A Master's Degree in Arts/Humanities/Science/Commerce and M.Ed. each with aminimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever gradingsystems is followed);

    ORM.A. (Education) and B.Ed. each with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent gradein a point scale wherever grading systems is followed);

    (ii) Ph.D. in Education; and

    (iii) At least eight years of teaching experience in University department of education orCollege of Education, with a minimum of three years at the M.Ed. level and haspublished work in the relevant area of specialization.

    ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR : Business Management (Distance Education) and Business Management (Campus Education)

    1. (i) Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent gradein a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master's Degree in BusinessManagement/Administration/in a relevant discipline or consistently good academicrecord with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherevergrading system is followed) in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent byAIU/ recognized by the AICTE/UGC;

    ORFirst Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant / Cost andWorks Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

    (ii) Ph.D. or Fellow of Indian Institute of Management or of an Institute recognized byAICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.

    (iii) A minimum of eight years experience of teaching/industry/research/professional atmanagerial level excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree.

    2. In the event candidates is from industry and the profession, the followingrequirements shall constitute as essential requirements:

    (i) Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent gradein a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Master's Degree in BusinessManagement/Administration/in a relevant discipline or consistently good academicrecord with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherevergrading system is followed) in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent byAIU/ recognized by the AICTE/UGC;

    ORFirst Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Account / Cost and workAccount / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

    (ii) A minimum of ten years experience of teaching industry/research/profession, out of

    which five years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent excludingthe period spent for obtaining research degree. The candidates should haveProfessional work experience, which is significant and can be recognized at nationalinternational level as equivalent to Ph.D. and ten years managerial experience inindustry/profession of which at least five years should be at the level comparable tothat of Lecturer/Assistant Professor.

    3. Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considereddesirable:

    (ii) However preference will be given to candidates who have requisiteexperience/qualification in Sociology, History, Public Administration, PoliticalScience and experience in the area of study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy.

    Important Note :

    1) Applicants wherever required should fill-up the API score card and send along with theapplication form. The API format can be downloaded from UGC website together withapplication form from the Universitys website www.manuu.ac.in. Applications withoutAPI score card shall not be considered for short-listing.

    2) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplinesfor which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

    3) Candidates may note that the UGC has prescribed the above qualifications for teaching

    5) A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master's level for SC/ST/PWD(Physically and Visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility andfor assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. Theeligibility of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading systemis followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible,based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

    6) A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degreeholders who have obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19 th September, 1991.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    1. Urdu shall be compulsory for all the teaching posts. The candidates must have studiedUrdu as a subject at SSC/+2 or graduation level.

    2. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that acandidate possesses the same will not entitle him/her for being called for interview. TheUniversity reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to areasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than theminimum prescribed or by any other condition that it may deem fit. Those who arepossessing higher qualifications will be given preference for short-listing the candidates.The University may constitute a Screening Committee to scrutinize the applications andshort-listing the candidates. Call letters for test/interview will be sent only to the short-listed candidates and no correspondence will be made with applicants who are not short-listed.

    3. It would be open to the University to consider the names of suitable persons who maynot have applied, but recommended by experts in their respective fields.

    4. The University will have the right to relax any of the qualifications, experience and age,except those relating to the knowledge of Urdu, in deserving cases for all the posts.

    5. The statutory provision for relaxing of age, minimum qualification, experience etc.prescribed in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will be madeapplicable to them.

    6. The number of vacancies indicated in the Employment Notification and in this bookletare tentative. The University reserves the right to increase/ decrease the number ofposts, at the time of selection and make appointments accordingly.

    7. The panel of selected waitlisted candidates will be valid for one year from the date of

    selection and University shall make appointments on consequential / new vacancies.

    8. Reservation for SCs/STs, OBCs and PWD for all posts as per GoI rules. Candidatesapplying for the reserved posts should clearly state to which category they belong. Theymust also enclose attested Photostat copies of valid Caste Certificate / Medical Certificatefrom the concerned competent authorities as per Govt. of India orders.     9. The University may offer lower post to a candidate who may have applied for a higher

    sleeper class rail fare (to & fro) by shortest route towards journey expenses on submissionof original ticket(s).

    11. Canvassing in any form on behalf of any candidate will disqualify such a candidate.

    12. The Selection Committee may decide its own method of evaluating the performance ofthe candidates in interview. The University may utilize seminar or colloquium as amethod of selection.

    13. The in-service candidates should apply through proper channel.

The applicant must write name of the post applied,his/her name and address on the back of the Demand Draft (Cheques / Money Orders / Postal Orders will not be accepted) . Fees ones paid shall not be refunded under any

    circumstances. Applications received after the last date and with incomplete informationor without requisite fee will be summarily rejected. The University will not be responsiblefor any postal delay at any stage.

    NOTE: In case the applicant is in service and delay is expected in getting endorsement of theemployer concerned on the original application in sending it to the University, the applicant maysubmit Advance Copy of the application along with original Demand Draft and all enclosures. AXerox copy of the Demand Draft may be enclosed to the original application being sent throughproper channel/employer. If the original application through proper channel has not beenreceived by the University by the last date mentioned in the employment notification, thecandidate/applicant will have to submit ' NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE ' obtained fromhis/her employer to the University at the time of interview, if he/she is called for interview.
