In John 19:22, Pilate declares, What I have written, Ihave written, to the chief priests who ask him to change
the inscription fastened to the cross of Jesus. Theinscription, written in Aramaic, Latin, and Greek, readsJesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. The priests
want Pilate to change the inscription to read that this manclaims to be the king of the Jews. Pilate refuses.
Gerald Borchert (New American Commentary) pointsout that this exchange between Pilate and the priestsemphasizes two major themes of Johns gospel: thatJesus was going to the hour of his glorification (cf. 2:4
to 17:1), and that he was also the expected King of Israel(cf. 1:49 to 12:13 and to the present verses). For John, nothing could change these realities. Jesus kingship wascertified by both God and Rome.
Christmas carols proclaiming Jesus as the promised
Messiah are sung all overthe world by people who donot believe it. I used to bebothered when celebrities whoare unbelievers would sing
Christmas carols that proclaimthe gospel but have no personalfaith in Christ. They know oursongs but they do not knowour Savior. However, the inscription on the cross placedby an unbelieving Roman governor still proclaims the
truth about our Lord. So I am thankful that during thisChristmas season many sing songs about our Lord evenif they do not know Him. And I pray that the truth of thegospel will penetrate unbelieving hearts.Merry Christmas!

Twenty-seven men and women currentlyparticipate in the ministry. Churches andSunday School classes may contribute towarda participants monthly expenses of $450.
Pastor Andre Hudson of Love of God FamilyChurch, Lancaster, and his congregation are
excited to be moving into their new, permanentfacility in December. God has blessed themby providing the resources to purchase the
land and construct the church building in sixshort years. Pastor Hudson acknowledges the
support extended by Dallas Baptist Association,Texas Baptists and the Baptist Church Loan
Corporation during that time. He says that, even without a permanent building, Love of
God Family Church conducted ministry in manycreative ways from various locations. Churchministries and worship have been located in a
storefront in Dallas Lancaster Kiest ShoppingCenter, a small church in Pleasant Grove, the
fellowship hall at More Than Conquerors Church, and at First Baptist Church, Lancaster.
We thank God for great mentors includingDr. Billy Bell and Dr. Roy Cotton, he states
passionately. Several others have also helpedus discover a very valuable lesson over the pastsix years: ministry is not based on a building, but
on the Great Commission.

Think about giving towarda missions camp experiencefor girls in grades 1 through6. They may be girls who are
faithful in your congregationor perhaps those withinyour ministry reach. Mini-camp is March 22-23, andGirls Missions Camp is July28-August 2, both at Mt.Lebanon.
Within the context of oursummer 2012 Girls Missions
Camp, Savanah Sharpless ofWest Mesquite Church wasinspired to do something tohelp foster parents during the
first hours after they learn theywill receive a child. SavanahsClosethas been establishedto collect ne cessary s uppliesand make them available so theparents can immediately focuson the child.
Yes, give gene rously to yo urmissions offering that travels
around the world touching lives. But think also about investingin a potentially life-changingmissions experience for a young
woman.

Pastor Andre Hudson and firstlady Patricia Hudson (left) arejoined by representatives fromBGCT, DBA, and the church forthe groundbreaking ceremony.
While at Girls Missions Camp, God
inspired Savanah Sharpless, a member
of West Mesquite Baptist Church, to
begin a ministry to hel p foster families.
When DBAs executive director, Bob Dean, readthe bookLost Dallas, he learned about severalhistoric Dallas church buildings that were soldto for-profit businesses and then subsequentlydemolished. Dallas former Hardrock Caf onMcKinney Avenue, for example, used to be aBaptist church. Now it is a parking lot in Uptown,
one of the fastest growing neighborhoods of Dallas. To help churches retain their locations in
strategic neighborhoods like Uptown, DBA provideda conference in November with sessions led byattorneys and people with expertise in propertyinsurance and tax issues.
Conference participants learned about theadvantage of deed reversion clauses to assurethat church property will continue to be usedfor Kingdom work even if their church ceasesto exist. In addition, they learned how tonavigate the details of tax exemptions, propertyacquisition, sharing space, and selling proper ty.
DBAs Vickery Baptist Church is an exampleof a church that has pro-actively assuredthat its property will continue to be used as aGospel witness for generations. Their buildingis situated in the heart of Dallas Vickery
Meadows refugee communityPastor Herb Walker led the chreversion clause in the churchthe property to DBA should thexist. DBA can then ensure th
acquired by another church ocommercial interest.
