The Selected Work Of Davis Mulyango
Design Portfolio
I’ve worked with a variety of experts in the arts, business, design, and education, and I find this collaborative process endlessly exciting. I’m eager to meet like-minded people to push the boundaries of content, design and technology.
While this interactive portfolio does not include my research, interactive, or video projects I’ve worked on, I believe the work represented here, from 2009 – 2016, includes some of my best. Many of the projects were designed while working as a freelance Design Consultant, which was both one of the most creative as well as demanding environments I’ve ever labored in.

About Davis MulyangoMr. Mulyango currently works for IBM Kenya and he is an information designer embedded in the Proposal Center of Competency (PCoC). His main role is to visually illustrate complex processes; customer journeys; value proposition canvas; solution implementation models; and info-graphics to be used in developing Value Driven Proposals by the PCoC Team across the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region.
For two and a half years before Joining IBM he worked with the marketing team at KPMG Kenya as an inhouse Graphic Designer. Over the course of his time with this team, he was able to gain valuable experience in brand strategy, market research, UX design and product development work, all while continuing to primarily serve as a Visual Designer. He produced graphic content for site re-skins, page layouts and animations. He designed & formatted proposals on a range of engagements, ensured consistency in corporate and promotion collateral and developed pitches and presentations for the engagement teams.
“The essence [ of graphic design ] is to give order to information, form to ideas, expression and feeling to artifacts that document human experience.” —PHILIP MEGGS
After graduating in 2010 from the University of Nairobi, Mr. Mulyango worked with Nation Media Group for three years. It was while he was at Nation that he sharpened his skills as an editorial graphic designer. After a rigorous training programme, he became the creative brain behind Daily Nation newspaper’s DN2 Magazine supplement. As the magazine’s designer his duties ranged from layout design and concept creation. He further liaised with other members of the editorial team in producing the publication and to make sure it was a success.
Mr. Mulyango is an artist with a passion for communicating ideas effectively with minimal fuss and maximum impact, coupled with an excellent command of graphic applications, a love for simplicity and meticulous attention to detail. He is crazy about making sure that systems, interfaces, language and graphics are human friendly, emotive, aesthetically pleasing, clear, on-brand and usable.
